They were way ahead on this one and invested back in (I think) 2009. I sent back a few emails with links showing that it was a scam. I then got called an idiot for not trusting "the experts." The expert being some deadbeat my aunt was dating at the time. My father passed in August and, when going through his financial stuff, he still had money invested in dinars that he didn't touch. I think it appreciated a few dollars total. He had always been conservative, but he didn't really fall for the Q stuff and thought it was all made up. My mom, however, had really gotten into it and things did not go well during a family visit a few weeks before my dad's passing. Basically I stopped taking to my mom right after helping my sister get my father's affairs in order. I visited their house with my wife (who is black and the daughter of an immigrant), and my mom spewed some pretty hateful conservative talking points at her. If you ever poke in Voat threads or where Q people post, she was definitely using some threads centered around how to tell people of color to stop being victims all the time.
