Looks like the "Mobile Axe Throwing" cage caught a few too many errant axe swings to the right, and that whole panel of chain was swinging in and out fairly wildly while going down the road. Really curious what that looks like in general operation, as the proprietor trusts random members of the public not to release the axe on the backswing like the idiots they probably are? Has anyone ever seen one of these in action?

Sex Skeleton posted:I was excited to learn at my last job where all paperwork was in the form of Adobe PDFs that acrobat reader lets you type anywhere on the page. And it lets you insert images of your signature and initials. Since that day I no longer had to use my printer to fill out forms. We print pretty much EVERYTHING. All jobs are created in our database then printed for the non computer touchers to fill out their on site findings then the computer touchers scan that back in as PDF and attached to the database version of the file with the hand written findings transcribed. Then that is printed and stapled to the original and filed. We have files dating back to the 1940s just in case some local gov wants to know when some random pipeline was built. It's fun trying to find said documents and when you see the invoicing in Pounds instead of Dollars is funny. A good random one I pulled out a while ago was the invoice for retrofitting AC into a truck in the 1950s.

Water main from 1910 gave up in NE Portland yesterday. https://www.oregonlive.com/portland/2019/03/broken-pipe-that-caused-major-flooding-in-ne-portland-could-take-weeks-to-repair.html https://twitter.com/ZachH_KOIN6/status/1106996088903327744 Evidently it took a while to handle since the valves that could close off that line hadn't been touched in years. Infrastructure: who needs it?

Giant asian hornets I think. That suit looks like a bomb suit because they uh. they will gently caress your poo poo up. I have heard people comment online they've been stung by a couple of them and said they'd rather be dead.

I assume there's another person just out of frame, similarly attired, with a flamethrower ready to open up as soon as the nest has been exposed.

Male bees (and ants and wasps) are haploid, meaning they have a single set of unpaired chromosomes. This is because they're the result of unfertilized eggs! Females are diploid, with paired chromosomes, because they develop from fertilized eggs. A bunch of aphids are the exact opposite! Insects are fuckin wild man.
