These past few episodes have had the animation team just flexing their muscles nonstop, and I am here for it as long as they don't start breaking down from the strain. Reigen Arataka continues to be the absolute best.

Yeah if you don't know its coming, the sell on a Mob vs Teleport guy is very convincing because Mob doesn't even defeat the Plant Guy, Mogami does. Mob reiterates just how low his current tolerance is for people who use their powers to hurt others. Dimple tells us that Mob is pissed off and we can see that he still hasn't even begun to let loose. One gets us emotionally invested in seeing the henchman get shown the difference between psychic power levels between him and Mob because Ritsu and Teru keep taunting him about it. The teleport guy evolves and reaches a new level of power, putting him above pretty much anyone else we've seen so far. Mob finally shows up, just off screen. A huge relationship dynamic between Ritsu and Mob is that Ritsu is emotionally scarred because in their childhood someone hurt him and Mob gave them a horrible beating with his psychic powers. Mogami tells Mob he has to be harsh with on others or he may not survive. There's a feeling that this upcoming beat-down is going to be so satisfying even if we don't know how it's going play out exactly as many of the people that the Teleport guy has beaten up are those who Mob cares about, including Ritsu. Then Reign knocks the guy on his butt. It's so well done.

I just realised something about season 1, though I'm not sure it was on purpose: most of the low-level Claw goons had never met the boss, but they'd probably talked to people who had... and an informal description of that guy's appearance also perfectly matches Reigen (tall, slender, ginger man, looks about 30, always wearing a suit).

Nobody knows that one of Mob’s powers is telepathically summoning Reigen so he can take care of grown adults looking to throw down with a 13-year-old.

Something this show is real good at is hammering home how hosed up it is for grown adults to be beating up 14 year olds. From the post-credits scene, Serizawa seems to be the only villain esper who actually tries to talk down a middle schooler instead of immediately going for the psychic fisticuffs.

Yeah they even go so far as to have Ritsu and Teru get more of the extended brutal beatdowns from Ryo, it makes Teru's counterattack and laughing at him all the more satisfying because literally and figuratively, they have this loser adult beat six ways from sunday
