You just know that these fuckers are the type to go to Breitbart by typing https://www.google.com into the address bar, then typing Breitbart.com into the Google search box once it loads.

Seriously, there’s a lot of death posted online. It’s really easy to see what actual gunshot wounds look like. I can’t think of a single movie that gets it right.

forgot that i saved this from earlier today:quote:For reference, quite true to life (more so than Zero Dark Thirty, for certain) are the “Sicario” movies-Sicario and the second one is called “Sicario-Day of the Soldier (Soldato). The movie is named in the Hispanized form of the old Roman Latin word- Sicarii: who were Jewish Zealots in the decades preceding Jerusalem’s destruction in 70 AD, strongly opposed the Roman occupation of Judea and murdered Romans wherever they could, especially the merchant and leadership (the Roman Cartels/slavers of the day). The Sicarii carried sicae, or small daggers, concealed in their cloaks. At public gatherings, they pulled out these daggers to attack Romans as well as Hebrew Roman sympathizers and blended into the crowd after the deed to escape detection. Didn't get the name, but it's from the Trump didn't actually build any walls thread.

Turns out the entire nationalist uprising in Spain and subsequent 40 years of fascist rule was a deep-cover leftist op to get universal health care in that country. It worked flawlessly.

The first movie was all about how veterans were used up and spit out into a society that didn't want them. There is a little bit of "why didn't the politicians let us win Vietnam?" but it comes from a character who's clearly suffering from severe PTSD. I've never seen the sequels and I don't want to, because it sounds like they miss the whole point that Rambo was a broken man, not a badass hero.

And the 2008 one is about exposing human rights abuses in Burma, and Stallone said he didn't care if people pirated it as long as they learned something about what was happening there.

Yeah. The Rambo movies are kinda weird. There's definitely "musclebound badass spitting bullets and making people explode with the bullets" to be had, but there's actual subtext to everything going on that you can get if you pay attention. It's not Citizen Kane, but there is a message.

Drive got it right, when Oscar Isaac gets shot in the neck earlyish on. That's the closest I've seen to the real deal, and it makes that movie harder to watch nowadays than I'd like.
