I know this wouldn't be anything close to legal or passable as a law in the US but there should be a law that if a police officer is accused of assault/murder/etc while on duty and their body camera is off or "malfunctioning" they are guilty of the offense. That or you can't be a police officer if you've been accused of domestic assault. We hold teachers to pretty much that standard.
