I make my kids earn their meals with “chore scrip” that they get for mowing the lawn and cleaning my firearms and whatnot and if it’s dinner time and they don’t have enough chore scrip they can use their “bad boy scrip” but they only get 5 of these a month and when they use one I dunk their food in the toilet before I give it to them.

Bad Boy Scrip is a good Soundcloud rap name. If they let people buy fast food with SNAP then Papa Murphy's will go out of business. Push El Burrito has issued a correction as of 00:04 on Mar 28, 2019 |

Truly though, the biggest issue with universal basic income would be the growing wealth disparity, as automation kicks out all but highly skilled workers and no skill jobs that still require people, resulting in less middle class and more people who just afford the basics on UBI and the rich getting richer and having more and more influence over politics, etc. This isn’t to say it can’t be done well, you just need a system in place that still incentivizes people to become highly skilled and wanting those jobs, while not incentivizing wealth hoarding.

I never understood the "people wont want to work if we have a basic universal income" thing. people dont want to work for what they make now. people who are bored and want to work will work.

the implicit implication is that they do not actually need the financial assistance to survive and are merely using it to buy frivolous items they otherwise would not hth

They aren't going to get their ethnostate and Trump turned out to just be another piece of poo poo plutocrat so they jumped on board with a techno-liberalish-libertarianish-candidate who promised them $1000/month to sit around smoking weed and playing videogames.
