With balls of steal, another sub sails into Tokyo bay, and we blast it from the water. To the south, we confirm a kill. More Bettys make a suicide run. Once again we outfight the allies by a factor of 2:1 This is mainly to report I am still bombing Chunking. You flew all that way to take on some PT boats? Some dodgy choices by my Bettys caused some heavy air losses today. The Silent Service have finally entered the war proper, and seem to be paying for it. It's interesting how close my score is to the AI's – but its the Allied score that's holding them back. Them taking a base at some point might help. Aircraft losses continue to close. There is pretty much no change in their ground losses. We would need to be fighting on the ground for that to happen. When was the last time I saw an Allied carrier?

Is it worth it to stop flying the Betties? Also congrats! Two badly hit Allied subs! The Allies probably have more active ones at this point than they do carriers.

Hey, Grey Hunter, is there any chance you can share the raw data for those graphs? I'd actually love to do a couple more interpolations for funsies; it would be interesting to see the deltas, not just the totals.

So I went with the joke version. It's not like I'm hurting financially like Lowtax, and I've got the buffer from the GFM for things like the upcoming Rule the Waves 2 LP. Although with the "government" faffing around like they did last night, I may reconsider in the future! Part of the joke was putting it in dollars when I'm English, as they would survive Brexit better. Volmarias posted:Hey, Grey Hunter, is there any chance you can share the raw data for those graphs? Sure, I'll try and remember to host my spreadsheet at some point. its not like it will have any massive spoilers beyond "more allied ships are sunk".

1 April 1945 No losses to report today, but American troops landed on Okinawa this morning. Fighting in the waters around the island will be, in its own way, as bitter as the fighting on land. Sporadic kamikaze attacks caused some damage on day 1, including hits on the battleship West Virginia and carrier Indefatigable, but nothing too severe as both of these ships more or less shrugged off the attackers.

Apparently yesterdays damage reports were overstated. see, now I have to wonder if my captains are lying to me. Or could my guys be this good? Their subs are everywhere, that's for sure! My franks get cut to pieces. The Islands have some good pilots now! This new script for their subs is weird. It seems to assume I just have Japan left for some reason. It's not working well for them.

2 April 1945 A kamikaze hit totals the fast transport Dickerson off Okinawa. A carrier sweep up north claims escort No. 186 and fast transport T-17 near Amami Oshima. In the Philippines, USS Shaw—rebuilt after suffering severe damage in the attack on Pearl Harbor—runs hard aground, ending her second career.

I realised I've not done this in a while. On the way home they murder these guys. Then a few more. I love the image of these guys steaming through a convoy shelling it with impunity. Stay away from my boats! Learn your place! Their back again.... They leave one alive as a warning. Just die already! Oh boy, they did not enjoy that day! I loved it though!

A ten to one loss in the air in your favor can't be sustainable for the Allies even in 1945.

The Allied sub script appears to be for Operation Starvation, the blockading of the Home Islands with the aim of starving the Japanese into submission instead of having to invade. The effects OTL were felt into the 1950s, even after a concerted effort by the US to try to reverse them.

Seems simple to me, just use all those Liberty ships to make up for what you sunk. But I bet it's not that simple.

I imagine you don't want to use Liberty Ships as one time minesweepers especially in shallow waters.

We blast our way through some PT boats. Poor things explode when you look at them! That's more meaty prey. They made over 2,000 of these things, and it feels like I have sunk about half that. Your guess is as good as mine. Its practice for the Singapore garrison at least – they have been alert for an invasion from India for most of the war. They have not lost their edge at least! It's a bit full on today! And that, I hope, is the last we hear of the Tang. Not my tankers! Thankfully, I have a ton of ASW 8/9 escorts sitting in Tokyo as they have not been really needed. That one was irreplaceable. My god, the sea is full of subs! Losing the tanker hurts, but I think I win on volume.
