The little response titles are often a distraction from the subject of the tweet or article.

Discendo Vox posted:The little response titles are often a distraction from the subject of the tweet or article. And because they come BEFORE the tweet it’s entirely context-free until one reads the tweet that follows which is incredibly annoying. Between that, cross-thread reposting, and the high fluff/news ratio I found that the best choice was to ignore the poster and assume that others would quote the worthwhile parts.

Dumps are good, but please put any commentary AFTER the tweet. Remember that that's how we read things and getting the punch line before the set up is very annoying.

Also with his statement that it's "a very out-of-the-ordinary event that he had never seen happen before during this kind of analysis" it seems like they probably aren't the cyber crime guys.

My guess is that these dudes were the cyber equivalent of TSA screeners -- i.e., their job is just to screen everybody who comes through and provide some security theater, not to actually stop a real espionage attempt. Imagine what would happen if a TSA screener actually found a real bomb

I'm curious - from an engineering perspective, how do you stop a usb device from autostarting, assuming that at least part of the functionality will be input devices like keyboards and mice? As in how do you make it secure to function as a bootable usb drive without also compromizing the security?

Given how boring his 2014 taxes were I suspect that his wife takes care of the taxes and gives no fucks about the politics of the optics of it all. He just can't say that because then he'd be blaming his wife which is really bad optics. People need to chill the gently caress out about it for now. If May comes around and he's still not released them, then there is a point for concern.
