I hope that whoever loses the nomination takes the other as a secretary of state, and hope that they made a gentlemen's agreement before running in the primaries. I don't think that being VP would be the most useful position for them to influence policy, compared to state sec?

As much as I would love to see Warren in the White House, she's the future Senate Majority Leader we need. Imagine that, an abundance of choice for actual Leftists for national office.

the best ticket isn't warren/sanders (both are old, why would you choose that?) but bernie sanders/nina turner. turner's young, will carry the torch if bernie dies, and is not currently elected meaning we don't lose a congresswoman. she's also really great and i can imagine a sanders/turner presidency boosting her name recognition to the point where she could run and very possibly win the presidency in 2024

I honestly don't even see either of them endorsing the other if one of them drops out - Warren's going to endorse the most likely establishment pick at the time that she drops and Sanders is just going to endorse whoever beats him and wins.

I don’t think a Dem can win a statewide race in Georgia without it being stolen from them. Stacey Abrams is kind of at a dead end if she doesn’t jump into a VP slot which is also a kind of dead end historically speaking.

The President shouldn't use the painful images of 9/11 for a political attack," Pelosi said on Saturday. she needs to be yelled at for three or four reasons, mind - not backing Omar earlier, being caught completely flat-footed by the question about Omar's statement, not being fullthroated enough in her actual response (sticking up for her congressperson as a congressperson or muslims as muslims would, yanno, be pretty good) but that followup statement which I hadn't heard of yet, for some reason, even though it's literally her next tweet in that thread helps a bit

GreyjoyBastard posted:"pelosi wants omar to be murdered" is almost 10% as gross a take as the republicans trying to get her murdered She threw Omar under the bus, signaling to the Republicans that she wouldn't have Omar's back. AIPAC and the Republicans then proceeded to kick up the death threats and hatemongering up to 11 (somehow). That her response was this tepid, mealy-mouthed garbage about the sanctity of 9/11 and not about the death threats indicates that she doesn't take it seriously and doesn't particularly care about the situation beyond the bare minimum of what's expected of her as Speaker.
