i wouldn't call the thing you posted an easter lily, i'd call it a daffodil

an easter lilly is more like this

SubNat
Nov 27, 2008

Weird, those flowers are named easter lilies here in Norway. (Presumably also in scandinavia, not entirely sure.)

Maybe it's a European/US split kind of thing? Seems like a couple UK sites refer to the daffodils as easter lilies as well.

Objection! I object! That was... objectionable!

Taco Defender
Apparently it's a regional thing, yes.

wikipedia posted:

In western countries the daffodil is also associated with spring festivals such as Lent and its successor Easter. In Germany the wild narcissus, N. pseudonarcissus, is known as the Osterglocke or "Easter bell." In the United Kingdom the daffodil is sometimes referred to as the Lenten lily.[84]

But the thing we Americans call an Easter lily is only ever known by that name, so .

I want to know. Did they actually fill a pool with syrup and make people swim around? Or did they just measure viscosity and do math or something boring like that? Also what kind of syrup?

I had a video of that when I was about 6.

I remember it being shit.

The former apparently: https://www.nature.com/news/2004/040920/full/news040920-2.html

Not sure I'd call it a syrup though, it's a gum-thickened viscous solution.

I use to think Superfrog was a really weird gimmick but frogs really do show up an awful lot in this comic proportionally speaking.

There, now you know the pun behind his name. I'm still waiting for a chance to use Peggy's full name. Weird that it was in the introductory article but has never shown up in an actual comic.
