New OrleansDrunk Nerds posted:Message burnstyle and ask. Although he found a lot of plaster that strongly resembled the found casques at his really good solve spot last year. Also what is the terminology? I have a 'possible solution' I guess defeats any ambiguity. I looked at it again and saw other stuff and refined it. I now have to look through the forums for these things. If the podcast is the Lafayette park one where there was a sewage pipe - mine differs. Just listened to it. Have to consult the quest4treasure for the NOLA finds. Oh just reading your image summary. PS I am in the UK so adventuring out is a whole heap of hard. My dream is that I locate the stuff and people will say it's the FelchTragedy solution. It will force people to say Felch and that may be the real treasure. Urban Smurf posted:Funny. It's about principles. Any decent puzzlemaker is going to use better principles to make their hunt. Finding a few hopeful links to an idea is nothing special. It takes more than powers of the imagination tou see how things really work. Its bare and has a single leaf meaning a tree that begins to bloom. The leaf is pink. Louisville has a poo poo-ton of trees that have pink leaves at the beginning of spring when trees bloom amd the current time of year. Treasure's probably near one of them. That's my theory as a life-long Louisvillian who found out about this hunt 10 minutes ago anyway. I also think you're all over-thinking the goat amd butterfly. That just seems like a clue to the city to me. Louisville's the hometown of Muhammad Ali, who is the greatest of all time. G.O.A.T. Ali is famous for floating like a butterfly and stinging like a bee. Maybe look in the part of Cherokee closest to Cave Hill where he's buried and p close to Cherokee Park since its not in a cemetary. I'm not sure if you are referring to the tribute hunt or The Secret in general when you talk about what you found out 10 minutes ago, but every original painting has a gemstone in the image as well. 12 images, 12 birthstones. I'm not saying the tourmaline, it's position, the string or the branches aren't significant. That's just not a leaf. Merlot Brougham fucked around with this message at 04:35 on Apr 21, 2019 |

ok... there's a whole of measuring going on here. I'm going to try and break down some issues. Issue #1 you only use four lines of the verse. The rest are seemingly unnecessary? I dont know how you would use the rest of the verse to get to your place. I know how you could use the painting... but is the rest of the verse just filler? Issues were edited out at FelchTragedy's request. I'm happy to help you work on it more. If you would like. Honestly with your verse choice. I thought you would be somewhere else. burnstyle fucked around with this message at 03:18 on Apr 23, 2019 |

It is being reviewed. I also live overseas and it's difficult logistically for me to go there. This encoding is easier to unlock in terms of file and text manipulation. I intend to reveal at some point, otherwise I wouldn't have posted it would I.

FelchTragedy posted:It is being reviewed. Encoding is easier than simply copy and paste from the document from which it is written to the body of a post? You have issues. The “solve” must be so good that if you post it, a digging frenzy will surely ensue. I applaud you for being so thoughtful about the integrity of the park that the casque is located. I loving hate “solves”.

Also the harder they believe they have the correct answer (double-secret encoding lol), the kookier their stupid “solve.” It’s a universal law. I assure you, this nutjob’s solve will be embarrassingly dumb on its face and make you wonder how someone this obviously deluded can even find their way home every day unassisted.

Dadbod Apocalypse posted:Also the harder they believe they have the correct answer (double-secret encoding lol), the kookier their stupid “solve.” It’s a universal law. I don't want to come off as having the hubris of some of the other solve posters. I know that there is a lot of free association and pareidolia in some people's ideas. It's kind of the point of this thing. However my stuff is not just second guessed, it is refined multiple times to a point I think it is there. There are references in there that I think might be weak, however they are denoted in my descriptions as being so. There may be coincidences and there may be false positives. However they are usually alongside stronger things that support or may be actual sole answers. Multiple things direct to certain aspects of this solve/solution whatever the gently caress you call it, that I was blown away by. Also lets shout out to some of the astute people on this thread who discovered stuff too. You were great. I have a few more things to add to it as addendums to that I will edit and add at the end. However if I am right some of the aspects I'm unsure about that require a feet on the ground look can be ascertained for fun by people. The minor visual painting clues for example that I can't quite see in zoomed detail in the real world. Also I might correct any ambiguity in my writing after I get feedback. Then I will return to my spaceship with Space Lord Lucan and Captain Shergar. and Nessy the pet dinosaur to find treasure on another world.

Just post the general area you think it is, and if a goon lives nearby I'm sure they'd be fine with taking a look in person for you. None of this secret code, clandestine spy bullshit. It's been three and a half decades, just post your poo poo and it will be time stamped so we'll know if you had it first or not.

The smart way to do it would just be to run ground penetrating radar over the whole park -- it's about the size of two or three football fields -- and then just dig up everything that looked weird. It's a historical site so either way you'd probably find neat stuff.

Buncha legal issues there, though- the entire place would be an archaeological site, and you know they'd find a ton of buried remains. Frankly, and no offense to your riddle-solving skills, but white point gardens seemed so incredibly obvious as a solution to that one.

Right, but I caught that "between two arms" might mean the intersection point of two different pointing statues. I think I was the first to suggest that (in this thread at least). Otherwise yeah you'd have to go through the state archaeologist's office and the park management, which discovery appears to be doing.

Hieronymous Alloy posted:I grew up there but I don't live there any more, no. No worries dude. I think I worked out where the digspot is. The process goes. Work out digspot usually in small hours of morning. Wake up next day, look at things again. Start looking up what other people know to see if they discovered stuff. Find out stuff and confirm other things. Also start confirming things because you get the gist of what is going on. Have a bucket load of confirmers.
