It's not the least bit scientific, but it's usually fairly entertaining to watch. Now this time around he was testing a particular kind of shield, and figured that to make the test more accurate, they should simulate somebody holding that shield by its grip so that it'd accurately flex and move against a strike.

So how'd he simulate it? Just by straight up having an actual guy hold the shield up while he swung and threw axes at it. Without any other sort of protective equipment to be seen. :psyduck:

It happened around Mercer Street & Fairview Avenue which I would bet is in the top ten busiest intersections in all of Seattle on a typical weekday. This could've been way, way worse if it happened on a weekday afternoon.

Apparently the crane was in the process of being disassembled when the accident happened. I went through the crash site only an hour prior to the accident too :stonk:

I lost a toenail once because I'm almost inevitably barefoot, and someone backed into me and lifted the nail clean off my big toe. The real OSHA/Health Care Horror part was when I put dry gauze on the wound...and then tried to peel it off the next day. PROTIP: DON'T DO THAT. Use some antiseptic goop upon application, and/or soak it off in warm water.

I lost a big toe nail last year because I didn't re-lace my boots before descending 4300 feet back to the trailhead. It turned black so I kept it taped on until the blister healed and the new toenail pushed it off.

My favourite is his video on the Bren being a better weapon than the MG 42, despite them being used in different roles by two armies with completely different doctrines and not being directly comparable at all. One of his reasons why is that "the UK won the war".

He is 100% full of the dumbest poo poo and if he's ever right it's entirely by accident.

Could you have hobnails, but then a thick sheet of leather with holes punched in it that you can fit over the hobnails? Pull it off or put it on as neccesary.

Pallet recycling places pay decent money for pallets (a few dollars each, last I heard) so people can pick them up for free and the more they can carry, the more they make. This leads very dumb people to try to carry way too many with vehicles that were never supposed to do it in the first place.

There's a channel called Zombie Go Boom that tests various weapons on blood-filled replicas of human heads (which they claim to be accurate in terms of skull and tissue density). The problem is neither of them are actually trained professionals, just dudes who like to play badass and whack poo poo with machetes, so their replica of the improvised spiked club from The Last of Us went poorly.

After lacerating his left shoulder, the victim cradles the weapon in his right arm such as that the sharp ends of weapon are digging into his torso just past the area covered by padding.
