Historically speaking, that's really low support for a president in his own party. I don't think that Obama ever dropped lower than the low-90's.

Did Trump or Obama abuse his low income voting base more?

I would have to go with Mr Trump! due to things like the trade war with China.

Why would Ethiopian dignitaries visit the Vatican. They wouldn't even be visiting Constantinople.
This seems false.

They were monks who arrived to take part in the Council of Florence, an attempt to reunite the various branches of Christianity as the Ottomans rolled over the remnants of Byzantium.

Their arrival is actually carved in bronze on the doors of Old Saint Peter's alongside other scenes showing the Byzantine emperor, who came in person.

Anecdotally, I still hear the familiar refrain that "nobody wants to work anymore" uttered a lot in my workplace, which is full of Trumpies. A certain segment of Republican voters seem to take pride in having to work Saturdays, constantly stay late on short notice and coming into work even if they're sick or have a family crisis. I don't know where Republicans in general get the idea that Americans are loving lazy when every metric you can use to measure it clearly states the exact opposite.

But their solution to every loving thing is "work harder", "spend less", "prey a lot" and "don't get sick" then these same people never stop bitching about taxes.

the whole "nobody wants to work anymore..." poo poo boomer managers pull is immediately followed with an unsaid "...for what i'm paying". millennials don't "work" because working upwards in a company is the thing of the past, especially when you have a bunch of bloated boomer fossils that refuse to retire clogging up upper management because they're so attached to their work, they have no meaning outside of it

ther'es a really (unintentionally) good story on NPR about why millennials are ghosting their jobs, which ended up with an interview of someone saying "the last time i 'did the right thing' and put in my 2 weeks notice, i was immediately escorted off the premises and i almost lost my apartment. why the gently caress would i ever give 2 weeks again?"

I had a experience in which the company tried to convince me that I had to give them two weeks notice as part of the resignation process.

Even though the original offer letter itself said "at will employment"

Most of the gripes of management come from the fact that they forgot how to actually compete for workers. They're used to the post '08 world of having everyone 4 people apply for each job, so they could pay peanuts and micromanage everyone

Turns out instead of creating a dedicated workforce, this just makes all of your employees want to leave at the first opportunity. Whoops!

Also things like wage increases has been pretty bad in the US especially when you account for massive spikes in rent and medicine costs.

I worked in my first job as fresh out for 7 years and only saw a 2-3% wage icrease even when I got better than meeting expectations in a forced ranking system.

After that I've been only staying at the same company for no more than three years since you always get a bigger pay increase by jumping ship.

Basically, the banks that held the debt were bailed out, and homeowners were forced to eat a lot of the costs. If you're a nonwhite American, you're much more likely to be the first person in your family to own a home, and to have most of your wealth tied to your home. Crashing home prices fucks over low-to-middle income people of colour a lot worse than upper-middle class whites. Here's a paper on it, with a summary.

quote:

“What have you been up to?” Dave Brooks, managing editor of the Daily Caller News Foundation, wrote to her on June 4, 2017. “Saw a facebook friend hating on you, so I thought I’d see how you've been. You should hang out sometime.”

“Breitbart fired me and I’m working on my first book,” McHugh wrote back.

“I hate to hear that. Did they fire you before or after the tweet? Would you have any interest in working for AR.com if I talked to Richard?” Brooks replied.

“They fired me because of my tweets. Would be grateful to hear about another job opportunity,” McHugh said.

“So they cucked for CNN? What a bunch of bastards. I've talked to Richard, and the money isn't there yet. But he has you in mind. Keep your head up and let me know if you want to grab beers and bitch about the nonsense. I'll buy.”

“Thank you, will do.”

Brooks had another idea. “Yep, I also know Jared Taylor has been looking for an investigative reporter. I think he's a little in an old school journalist mindset, but it would pay more than I make at the Caller. Devin [Saucier] has the deets on this.”

In an email last week, Daily Caller publisher Neil Patel wrote that the company had dismissed Brooks as a result of these emails. “Katie McHugh has not worked with us for many years and we have no association with her,” Patel wrote. “We have absolutely zero tolerance for these insane white supremacy types. Any insinuation to the contrary is an embarrassment to all the great people who work here. We have dismissed Dave Brooks effective immediately based on the email correspondence you sent which we had never previously seen.
