I tried the official app, but I forget exactly why I had to use a 3rd party app in addition. I do remember the watch taking hours to get paired and needing to be repaired twice in that 2 day period. And iirc the alarms were stored on the app and had to be transmitted to the watch before they went off which is not reliable. My Garmin stores it's own alarms.

I was on Android. Maybe I just got a bad one? I remember the whole experience just being awful. The QR code in the box to download the app didn't work. The play store lists multiple apps of varying compatibility. Tiny square of paper in the box with a QR code that that doesn't work and a URL to a broken website that contains 3 possible files to download - none with descriptive names - all requiring you to bypass Android security to sideload onto the phone. Googling for a solution and finding a yahoo groups post that suggests a particular app on the Play store that may work. Which isn't there. But there are 5 apps with names that are nothing to do with the name of the watch, whose descriptions suggest they may work. Pick one on the basis that it has the most readable English, try that. Spend 15 mins trying to get the watch to connect to Bluetooth using the recommended method and failing. Ignore the app, pair it using the OS Remove and reinstall the app.....and it works!

I have been using a Mii band with the official app on IOS and then Android and never had any issues, do have a third party app which works alongside the official one so that I can use sleep tracking on sleep as android, but that's about all of third party apps needed

Yea Xiaomi is a huge company on the scale of Apple in China and they make a large range of products from cell phones to drones to air filters. Most of their items typically have very good quality although I suppose it's possible that there is the occasional lemon or some of the older products still being spotty on quality.

This way if I feel my pocket buzz, but my watch doesn't I know it's something I can tottally ignore. Been a big stress reducer for me. The watch has allowed me to be less tied to phone. The alarm is just the best. It's the only alarm I've never slept through, but it's still a nice gentle wake up.

O2 requires you to sit super still for a measurement, if they take readings while you're doing stuff they'll be highly inaccurate. If you've got a medical condition that requires you to check spO2, it's probably just as easy to get a cheapy that goes on your finger.

If you are in the EU the retailer is legally obliged to do warranties anyway, but if you are in US which it isn't and your xiaomi stuff breaks it might be hard to fix.

So I ordered stuff off Ali for the first time last month on the 6th with the Ali site showing a "shipment time" on the 14th along with an epacket tracking number. There is no tracking information available this whole time, either through the ali site or epacket's site. Should I be worried or is this normal?
