Spotify for me, although I am to trying to quit, since I keep running into lovely curation and removed albums. I mostly use it when I'm on the go and want to listen to something I haven't transferred to my phone. I've got a ~18K songs local collection, so I'm not really hurting for content.

Of course my promo access helps a lot, I get to hear so much stuff I wouldn't have heard about otherwise. I buy a bunch of stuff on Bandcamp, too.

Vinyl too, but I try to stick to pre-CD releases and the occasional newer retro-styled release, like Kadavar or Tanith.

Well.. both. If from bandcamp then I don't need to rip the files. I still buy at least 1 CD from every show I go to.. then rip those.. then meticulously name & tag the files, then transfer them to my mp3 player for playing in the car.

I'm living in the early 2000s still and I don't care.

I regret every cd I ever bought, if I could go back and get the vinyl I would. I started buying music pre-cd and never stopped getting vinyl, just some cds here and there for convenience sake. Big mistake, now I can hardly give them away.

i recently threw all my CDs away because they've been sitting in one of my spare rooms for years collecting dust. it was something like 500 or whatever. i was thinking of giving them away or whatever but i didn't want to have to go through and filter things out before i gave them away to prevent the recipient from thinking i was some sort of monster.

now i just buy vinyl and poo poo from bandcamp.

Tapes are my new musical crack. So many great small releases cant afford a vinyl or even CD run and just throw up a 6 dollar tape with a button. That poo poo adds up fast, but its nice to support small bands.

I can't keep track of what you guys have already posted, so I'm just going to dump all the releases I'm aware of:
My town's own Haunt, trad
Full of Hell, noisey deathgrind
Encoffination, death doom. Up on Spotify, not fully released on BC yet. Main guy behind it has a youtube channel here where he goes through his massive collection of CDs and tapes.
Saint Vitus, trad doom
October Tide, death doom
The new Rammstein is out on Spotify
A Hyperdontia comp came out today, isn't fully up yet
Paladin, power metal.
Grimgotts is supposed to have an album out but it isn't up anywhere. When it does crop up though it's power metal
Pythia have a new album up on Spotify, power metal
Savage Messiah have a new one up on Spotify, thrashy power
Starkill's new one is up on Spotify, powery melodeath
Amulet - The Inevitable War is up on Spotify, trad
Blaze Out - Instinct is up on Spotify, trad
Riot City, trad
Solicitor, speed
Worshiper, occult trad

Encoffination are a fun band. IIRC the YouTube channel guy is a mortician as his day job

Nazzadan
Jun 22, 2016

Yeah hes a mortician by day and also does a fuuuuuckload of layout/graphic design work for bands. He's also behind Father Befouled which is probably a better band than Encoffination.

Edit: Oh, speaking of he dropped a Father Befouled EP today as well.

Father Befouled is just an Incantation clone. They’re not bad at it but Encoffination is a bit more unique imo, insofar as death/doom does “unique”

His story on Father Befouled being like Incantation was pretty funny. When he started the project and got a few releases out he hadn't listened to Incantation and everyone told him the band sounded just like them, and when he finally got around to seeing them live he was like "oh, goddamn we really are just like them."
