Also, what the gently caress is going on with Luann's mouth in that last panel?

Mouth puckered with excitement at whoever's shown up. It'd work better if that 'oh' was an 'ooo' because that actually fits the mouth though.

^^^Yeesh, Working Daze, you can't have the character who's breathlessly delivering the news that it's Rita in Panel 1 also react to her own news with apathy in panel 2.

We're both right. It's for ending childhood poverty, but vaccines and medical care in the third world are a part of what they do.

This year's Golden Week was exceptionally long because the accession of the new emperor, celebrated as a national holiday, happened during it, and days between two national holidays also become public holidays.

With the new emperor, the era of Japan changed from Heisei to Reiwa. The way they reveal the name of the next era is a guy comes on tv and holds up a sign with the name.

A wonderful thing about visual gags is not just the way they more easily translate to international audiences, but how the format itself changes joke delivery. This gag here wouldn't be nearly as funny if it were in text and we saw Nekonaughey saying "what on earth OH NO HE NEEDS HELP."
