Trouble, Believer, Paramaecium and the original Incubus are all really good and Christian. Incubus accidentally made abortion sound awesome.

Okay yeah Legends from Beyond the Galactic Terrorvortex is pretty hilarious. Should I be listening to Space 1992 first, or after, or just this one? I don't understand what is up with the hoots

silvergoose posted:Okay yeah Legends from Beyond the Galactic Terrorvortex is pretty hilarious. Should I be listening to Space 1992 first, or after, or just this one? Terrorvortex is a sequel to 1992. The Hoots is in reference to The Hollywood Hootsman, the king of California. An immortal barbarian actor and super buff, he gave his life to save California and the kingdom of Dundee and stop the evil wizard Zargothrax, but his sacrifice was in vain because in Terrorvortex Zargothrax is back. Power metal loving rules. Edit: He's not also a Terminator apparently there are limits to how on the nose the Hootsman reference can get Nazzadan fucked around with this message at 18:46 on Jun 4, 2019 |

Slough Feg has a new album coming out on the 21st. This song and a cover the Police's Synchronicity II(odd choice) are all that I can seem to find from it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oM4gDrU4tlg I am going to see them tomorrow, and I am super excited. Anyone else catching them on this tour? They really don't tour much at all, so I was pumped they had a Detroit date. Anyone else going tomorrow?

Well, ACTUALLY Wikipedia posted:As the opposing forces clash, with heavy casualties for McFife’s allies, Zargothrax returns to Earth where, in the caverns beneath Dundee, he begins a ritual to unleash the hellish Elder God Kor-Virliath upon the galaxy. Warned of the danger by the hermit Ralathor, the Hootsman speeds back to Earth and detonates his body’s neutron star heart, vaporizing the planet and stopping the ritual just in time (“Apocalypse 1992”). Foiled, the furious Zargothrax escapes into another reality through the ensuing chaotic space-time rift, pursued closely by Angus McFife XIII. Yes, I just discovered that the Wikipedia pages for the first two albums include story summaries. My favourite part is at the end of the summary of the first album: quote:Meeting Zargothrax in single combat, McFife defeats the wizard and casts him into a frozen pool of “liquid ice.”

While I enjoyed Wolves In The Throne Room's Diadem of 12 Stars, I think I prefer Two Hunters. Celestite is another beast entirely being an explicit dark ambient album but I thought it was really good. I might even like it more than Two Hunters. This is pretty good band overall though.

I like pretty much all WITTR material but Diadem is by far my favorite. I know I'm in the minority on that and most like Two Hunters more.

Gotta chime in that the new Gloryhammer is one of the most fun albums I’ve heard in a long time. I’ve had it on repeat since release, and among all the golden lyrics on this, I think the funniest line might be “Have you ever killed a goblin on the moon?” gently caress I love this band.
