I know a bunch of people are pumped for cyberpunk, but I'm just gonna ride the sideline on it until they can actually scrape together a beta.

How long has that game been in production? I know it's no duke nukem forever, but goddamn.

If any of the other CD Projekt Red games are anything to go by there won't be any beta, they'll just drop that poo poo out there and that will be it.

And if their track record is anything to go by, if there are problems they will fix them quickly with a minimum of fuss, release free DLC at regular intervals, and massive DLC will be a few bucks.

CDPR got a lot of credit with me after the publisher for Witcher 1 hosed them, the game, and customers, but CDPR made good on the game at their own expense.

I suppose if I pc gamed I'd know more who they are. I've been feeding off the console nipple all my life.

Though that's good on them, and goes to show I should probably have a little more faith on developers. The Long Dark is giving me an education on that now, Hinterland stays on top of that game. I've lost all faith in most game developers because publishers gently caress up the racket so much.

Has there ever been some spiritual successor to Need for Speed Underground 2?

I don't mean any of the following pure-racing games, I really loved the open world and tuning aspect of NFSUG2
Man, I need to play that game again, but I'll probably need a million fixes and workarounds to play it on a 4K screen I'm guessing.

/edit: That game is almost 15 years old :stare:

YES YES OH YES

I mean I’ll believe it when I see it in 2025 but still. People are pissed the combat system got revamped but man that poo poo was dated. It seems to be more like the Crisis Core combat which was dope

I've only played Underground 2, which was good, and then maybe five years later one of those Outlaw-esque titles on a friend's PS3(?), and it was pretty meh. I'm currently sifting through all of the titles to find out if they ever made another one akin to Underground 2

Also BR in 76 isn’t the worst idea I guess but NPCs is hilarious considering not having them was half their shtick

I thought there was some article or tweet from months ago saying that FO76 wouldn't have BR mode cause they don't chase trends or something.

Who exactly was asking for a fallout battle royale?

Man, Outer Wilds really is a boatload of fun, and really intriguing. I just have some really fierce mouse input lag, same with the controller, though I'm not sure how this is supposed to feel comfortable with a controller anyway. The single thing that a controller seems to be superior in versus keyboard/mouse is the steering of the toy spaceship.

But man, this loving input lag. Messing with the settings, or turning Vsync off hasn't done anything, and I can't really find anything online regarding the problem. It feels like I'm on a 300ms connection to some lovely server in Oceania.

Nope, nothing else. I've deactivated my controller by default, but I guess I could try unplugging the dongle. Don't think that should make a difference, though.

Also, holy loving hell, I just proper shat my pants in this game. Good loving lord, that moment rivaled a proper pants-shitter from Subnautica. :stare:

Navigating the Brittle Hollow already had me in a state of Schroedinger's shat pants, because the game will make you scared of heights and consequences from falling from heights, even if you weren't scared of heights before. I also didn't know a certain thing I do now, and only learned about that thing when the crust crumbled, and suddenly my ship was elsewhere. Put two and two together, and went for a WEEEEEEEEEEEE-moment that felt like I was legit bungee jumping.

Just now, I went to the Dark Bramble because a hint said something of interest might be there.

That hint was not loving around. :catstare:

/edit:
Also, that moment after my first 24 minutes of gameplay had me climbing the top of the observatory by chance on a mission to get in, and the ensuing moment was legit beautiful. I hadn't read anything about that specific mechanic before I started playing, and I was hooked then and there.
