And now, Gunther, please, PLEASE, while Bets is trying to have a nice moment on her date with you, answer your loving phone and talk to some other girl while Bets just stands there looking annoyed at you so we can all call her a jealous controlling bitch some more. Or don't! And then we can call her a jealous controlling bitch because you didn't ignore her to talk to other girls on your date!

With all the garbage spewing out of the comments section, I can totally see Gunther having their opinions too. He'd smile and act like a Nice Guy towards Bets all while constantly judging her actions and thinking to himself what a jealous bitch she is.

Honestly, I think RMMD should just be dropped. There's nothing to like about it or terrible to hate/mock. It's a whole pile of nothing.

And in this exact strip, they mention going to see Aladdin, which just came out a few weeks ago, so apparently Luann is simultaneously taking place this year and in 2017. Great.

Also, is this comic just not allowed to have a black character? Bets started off noticeably darker than Gunther and now they're like two Pantone shades apart.

Has anyone in the comments section ever called out Team Evans for that or how they've been making Bets lighter with each strip?

They called it out when it happened before; a hispanic character that Luann was mentoring started getting lighter. Ultimately it was blamed on a colorist error. If they've noticed Bets getting lighter I haven't seen anything, but I don't read that comments section *too* closely.

also worth noting that the colorists involved in weekday comics are generally intern-types at the syndicate with no input from the creators, unlike sundays where the creators are the ones who choose the colors (which explains stuff like why in newspaper spiderman the Classic Iron Man suit was given it's proper gold color on sundays but given the modern red/gold color scheme on weekdays, and why Curtis' skin tone on Sundays is different compared to weekdays)

Hell, worst case scenario, maybe the weekday colorist error this time around is that they made her skin darker than the Evans' envisioned when she first showed up

Seriously though, Bets seems pretty nice, from what little we've seen of her, and she has the patience of a saint to be dealing with loving Gunther. I am just baffled at how the commentators on Gocomics can hate her so much for... dating a whingy manchild? She deserves better, frankly.

I find it pretty consistently good. There have been maybe a handful of strips that haven't landed for me, but the average has been decent to great. The reuse of the same themes and settings doesn't seem like a problem to me because it's not a drama. There's no ongoing story that we're waiting to see the resolution of. The basketball bit can go on as long as Jaimes has jokes that fit with it and stop any time she's ready to move on - just like the robotics club did.

New Nancy fills it’s role well. It’s nothing worth following IMO but once in a while I check in, and find it consistently funny. Sometimes, it’s downright hilarious! Sometimes is sometimes enough, especially if your predecessor’s comic was just a Beach Boys fan convention in comicstrip form.

Not sure, but I'm getting a 403 in Vivaldi (my usual browser) and it's working fine in Firefox and Chromium. So I'm guessing maybe it has something to do with cookies? Whatever the case, the simple answer is that the website "upgrade" is still loving poo poo up and they'd be better off going back to the old version, which actually worked and had the handy "last seven days" view.

Ditto.

I appreciate that she doesn't feel the need to confine a setting to a week's worth of strips but will keep turning through the idea and pull any joke she can to fit it.

I imagine it's because the way Luann punishes anyone that's not Good makes it incredibly easy for incels to project themselves onto a Nice Guy like Gunther. They love the idea of getting women, but not women themselves. They're so paranoid about a woman daring to show any sort of personality or backbone that they comes up with insane ways to justify why that woman is a Slutty Bitch that doesn't deserve Nice Guys like them. They don't really want a person, they want an emotionless blob they can control and gently caress whenever they want.

This really didn't need an explanation. It was a lot more fun thinking Jimbo's garbage moment was a way to deal with his existential crisis at his awful life rather than this cloying bullshit.

Cylene's a good kid for trying to consider a little poo poo like Ruthie's a friend. If she had a phone then Ruthie would totally post some sassy message making fun of Cylene or already had her blocked.
