Should have payed more attention during his weapons qual and he might have hit something or to his MOS training and he might have learned that crossing an open area to three sides is a bad idea lmao.

According to a report and photos on lightfighter, his "body armor" was ineffective, cause he got center punched straight through the sternum by a handgun round.

Is it normal to remain a PFC for almost two years?

If you're just getting in, yeah. You auto promote to SPC at two years time in service, 6 months time in grade. Of course your have to also not gently caress up. So if he got chaptered out right at the two year mark, they probably blocked the auto promotion.

Isn’t getting dumped after two years indicative of something? I can’t think of many people I’ve met who were in for that short minus medical poo poo Cyrano4747 fucked around with this message at 16:55 on Jun 18, 2019 |

Yeah, either something medical or he was a gently caress up. Usually. Apparently the army was offering two year contracts as of 2017 though, so that could be something as well. (From a quick Google, anyways. That definitely wasn't happening when I was in.)

The only thing I can find is that he decided the Army "wasn't for him", so he may have not made any attempt to stick around beyond the bare minimum.

Well, lightfighter had some actual real people in addition to the typical gun forum insane right wing people. I know that at least one poster was an actual Delta guy who got arrested after he retired for getting drunk and accidentally shooting a family member. Good story for the idiot thread: https://www.registerguard.com/rg/news/local/35292810-75/story.csp Flying_Crab fucked around with this message at 20:35 on Jun 18, 2019 |

Yeah I liked reading the gun/gear reports there for the real world factors. The demographic has shifted a lot in the last 6 years or so though, a lot of the military types stopped posting there and it became more cop-centric. Sometimes (like in this case) there are postings about current events that I don't see elsewhere, but otherwise it's not somewhere I browse much anymore. But yeah better to avoid any of their discussion stuff outside of the guns and gear.

Idk, I got banned probably 10 years ago for arguing with Pat Rodgers about why we shouldn’t murder all Muslims or something similar. It had some legit knowledgeable people about the military & guns, but also an incredibly toxic culture.

Yeah definitely not arguing there. Side note I could never take Pat Rodgers seriously after seeing his instructional DVDs and hearing his voice. Reminded me way too much of the pedo guy from Family Guy.

Lmao I joined Lightfighter when I was 14 or 15 and big into airsoft, when the Lightfighter.com store first opened. That was like 2002ish. I didn't advertise either my age or my interest in airsoft, I just wanted to know what real military folks thought of gear and stuff that I wanted to buy to use in airsoft. I asked some dumb questions in a handful of threads but otherwise just lurked. The fact that they are insisting on vetting accounts to even read the forums now is a loving joke. Edit: oh hey sweet, somebody was mad enough at me to give me a big red title. Not even sure what threads I've posted in where being straight or white was remotely relevant but apparently I made somebody mad! I managed to do enough stuff that after my slated mob I’ll have 3 years of service in my first 6 year contract. However I got guys in my unit who have never done anything more than the base minimum even into their second contract.

The difference is he's an insane right-winger with street cred, as opposed to a bunch of beat cop insane right-wingers whose most notable gun-related event is drawing down on unarmed black men.
