E: Rather than bloviating in the wrong thread, I actually have a question re: war with Iran. If Trump decided to actually try to go through with a war with Iran, how would he navigate around the War Powers act? I know in the past it's been open to interpretation, but would he have any shot at starting a full-scale war like this without congressional approval? If Trump's lawyer says it's legal, it's going to be treated as legal until a court says otherwise. If Congress doesn't like it they can pass another bill (which will just move the timeline back as the war continues), accept that the president is above the law, or impeach him.
