Can't really speak to that as I haven't been working there for very long, but I have noticed that there is a fair number of people doing less than 100%. On the other hand, workloads during busy season can be brutal, but I don't know if that applies to data scientists.

Anzug is actually pretty comfortable imo. Back when I was in uni I also thought I'd never want to wear business wear, but after a while you kind of drop the Geisteswissenschaftler pretensions and realize that a nice business slacks is basically a pyjama.
Literally nobody wears ties any more either.

At my old work my team colleagues would come to work wearing cargo shorts, flip flops and pop culture reference t-shirts (men) and spaghetti strap shirts (women), unless the customer was there, in which case they'd upgrade to polo shirts.

That's one of the "get people riled up to watch it and think about the message" abbreviations when his message is: "Doing things that lead to you being asked questions you don't have answers to makes you weak, do things where you've thought enough to have an answer, or work on finding answers for questions that don't have them."

I'm also slightly disappointed that he says the USSR got rid of the market and capitalism, when it very clearly had a market, a currency, and capitalism, just under control of the state instead of individuals. Then again, that video is from 2012, maybe he thinks differently now.

He said that in various occasions, I recall quite well him calling the USSR real socialism and he saying something along those lines two or three years ago, so I'd doubt he changed his mind on this fundamentally. Would need to dig for the source on that though, might be wrong.

My interpretation is he mostly wanted to invert Marx‘ „die Philosophen haben die Welt nur erklärt“. But it also aligns well with his (strangely naive?) question, what happens the day after the revolution? But I think it’s quite apt nevertheless. There is no deep question leftism currently has a coherent answer for, so there is quite little to be done for the time being.

You're over-interpreting imo. He addresses extremely concrete and real conversational issues, and uh, that last sentence fragment there makes me ask: Have you actually watched the video you linked to the end, given he specifically brings up the example healthcare, where answers exist?
