My Japanese is pretty bad but is the title of that movie literally "Lupin The Third The First"? That takes the cake for most awkward movie title I've seen this year

here have been three live action City Hunter movies, none of them made by Japan or America. There's the aforementioned French one

the Chinese one

and the Korean one, which appears to have removed all the humor and hijinx in favor of drama and sexy brooding

TLJ and TFA are fairly bad sequels because they have anemic world building and no proper “war” taking place, which are the 2 core elements of Star Wars, but rather small skirmishes just for the sake of OT Rebel vs. Empire nostalgia pandering. The whole new trilogy story doesn’t even make sense following Return of The Jedi, shouldn’t the tables be turned with the New Republic army fending off the First Order?

The prequels were more ambitious and entertaining films I think, despite all of the flaws in acting and dialogue and so on. Episodes 2 and 3 were important milestones for world building and planet design in films/games and also military science-fiction in terms of factions, vehicles, troops and depictions of futuristic warfare in the Clone War conflict.

Not quite, but they made Star Wars: Dark Forces (doomlike with star wars flavor).
Then Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight (now with force powers). Then Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast. Then Jedi Outcast 2: Jedi Academy.

So if you follow the breadcrumbs they set...

That seems like a recipe for confusing your established fans and completely off putting any new ones...

“Welcome to GameStop. Are you interested in the new Star Wars game, Jedi Outcast 2: Jedi Academy?”
“No, I never played the original... do you have that?”
“Oh, the previous game... you mean Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast?”
“Wait. Jedi Knight 2? I thought I asked from Jedi Outcast 1.”
“You did! Jedi Outcast is Jedi Knight 2.”
“Alright, well do you have Jedi Knight 1?”
“Of course. [rummages through the bargain bin] There we go, one copy of Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight.”
“Oh gently caress off.”

I guess it makes sense now why LucasArts no longer exists.

I'm partial to the Fast and Furious titles:

The Fast and the Furious
2 Fast 2 Furious
The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift
Fast & Furious
Fast Five
Fast & Furious 6
Furious 7
Hobbs & Shaw

But as much as I like those, the Japanese titles for Fast and Furious movies are way better:

Wild Speed
Wild Speed X2
Wild Speed X3: Tokyo Drift
Wild Speed Max
Wild Speed Mega Max
Wild Speed Euro Mission
Wild Speed Sky Mission
Wild Speed Ice Break
Wild Speed Super Combo
