Cable Guy posted:This is a great example of an optical illusion btw... Rotate the image 180o and you see it's more like a tyre tread... Thank you for this, I'm having fun with how badly my brain is struggling with this. I mean it's obviously a truck tire either way, but it looks totally different based on which angle I look at, and often if I look at one and scroll to that other, the second one flips on me. tactlessbastard posted:Who left a goddamned wrench on the moon?! Astronauts, probably. Immediately prior to sealing up the LM for departure, they would throw the bags of all their lunar surface gear out the door, no use carrying it back up to orbit. So there's loads of bespoke tools and human feces on the moon! Maybe even a tool to work on the Lunar Rover equivalent of tires. I have always seen photos of craters on the moon as mounds, think it's the same phenomenon. I read once it's a flaw of the schizophrenic mind (I'm not) but that freaked me so hard I did not read any further. Edit: I can't see grooves in the small pic

Memento posted:Wow I forgot completely about that. Lort Smith is 100% a super good charity. As a counterpoint. I was living in Coburg. My super old terrier went missing from my front yard. Brick walled to about knee height. Closed and noisy ornate metal swing gate. I had the front door open while I was cleaning/cooking whatever and he would wander in and out have a sniff and a piss in the sunshine. He was gone for awhile so I went to check on him. Gone. Gate closed. I panic. He is 16-17, eyes are going if he got out he will die. I run around the immediate street looking and then start calling around. Hours later I find what I think might be him on Lortsmiths lost dogs. lovely low res photo but I think its him. I call. They wont let me get him as its now after 5 or whatever. Please he will be terrified. No. So I go in the next morning, wait in reception until upstairs where lost pets are is open. Yes its my dog. They are really reluctant to return him. - Which didn't click until I though about it later. I just wanted my dog. The attitude went away when I explained how old he was., Checked him over paid a few hundred dollars for the stay and asked how he got there. Someone handed him in. I asked if I could have those details so I could say thank you, I've had this dog since childhood. Was so scared and grateful. Cant give me the details. Ok can you maby call them for me? Yes and does so making sure i cant see it being dialed.. Hands me the phone. I get the same weird vibe from the call that didn't click until later. I talk to the lady who handed him in who seemed very worried about him until I explain he is very old. Yes I know what he looks like. It was only afterwards that I realized, some oval office, took my dog, from my front yard, took it to the pound, told them he was abused and I thanked her for it, thanked the staff and handed over the better part of a weeks pay. The staff knew what had happened from their reactions and attitude, still took my money, but I just wanted my mate back, and it didn't click until later. He looked kinda like this :
