Agonizing over this but l will go with Matt Barzal because he hit a ppg at 20 and that's pretty uncommon.

Don't forget to update the sheet when you pick guys: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1JOZfvDBowWzNLrGsSePJgCSQe9kTj2QQIGHF4JYjWqI/edit#gid=0 I try to edit in any picks that people forget to enter but it's easier if I don't have to :v:.

Flyers/Mentholmoose are up. Boomer still has two Oilers* picks to make as well.

bold strategy to completely miss your first two picks of the draft. usually people wait until we get to the later rounds.

This was my other guy in consideration. He's got such a good contract and is a loving great skater but Barzal's rookie season (assuming it wasn't entirely a product of Tavares) just slightly edged him out in my mind

To sign them is my real test

Honestly I'm surprised it took Pastrnak this long to go. He's a lock for 30+ and 80ish points, young, and on arguably the best deal in the NHL relative to what he does. only knock on him is he's a winger I guess.

I was honestly between him and Eichel at 8

not that I expected him to make it around anyway but boooooo

Barzal was my next pick before he got picked, because 62 pts without Tavares tells me he has the skills to pay the bills

I considered Jack Hughes but reckoned the run would happen with or without me. And Hughes, as much as I think he'll be quite good, would be a slight risk.

From what I remember, in 2017, we auto drafted for the Kings at the end of round 2 after they missed their first 2 picks. So maybe we'll wait until then for Boomer to show up before we do any auto picks.

He's there for his sterling FO% and to account for positional shortage. Zone responsibilities are fluid in coach REDACTED's system so he'll be functionally a wing anyway.
