Doc can get consensus picked through 2018-19 point totals. I'll talk it over on the Cord but I think best process would be awarding the highest remaining players at the end of this round, and just autopicking for Doc for the remaining rounds when his turn comes up. We're back-to-back so I can just double up.

Yeah if i hadnt turbofucked my team capwise he would have been my pick instead of Patrick. When you only have 2.2 mil per spot and you have 18 spots to fill then...welp

So we're only a few rounds in but here are the teams I like the most not counting my own. I mean honestly all the teams look decent so far but these ones feel like the best to me. Interested to see if anyone has different opinions.
.
Penguins - McDavid, Gibson, and a solid top pairing in Letang-Gostisbehere if Letang can stay healthy
Senators - Crosby with any combination of Gallagher, Tkachuk, or Skinner is nasty, plus Karlsson on the back end
Vegas - lots of solid players who still have some upside to them across the board
Canucks - all forwards so far but that's a scary top 6
Red Wings - just looking solid so far, lots of potential
Blackhawks - a mostly veteran team but not in a bad way
Capitals - a mostly young team but with huge upside and some of them are already proven elite players
Flyers - young and talented and also hard to play against, especially when you consider the older players

With Aye Doc's forgiveness and management wanting to go another route we here in the Hurricanes front office wanted to stick with something a bit more on brand. With our first (make up) pick we would like to take Erik Cernak. With 58 games in the NHL Cernak isn't the finished product yet, but with an average of 7 shots every 60 minutes of game time, 1 point/60, and 16min/night 5v5 this rookie appears to have the makings of a top pairing defenseman. At least that's what we hope. With one year left at ~700k he provides some cost control to our roster.

Using our 2nd make up pick the Hurricanes would like to select center Mikael Backlund. A solid 2nd line center putting up ~.5 points per game with good possession metrics in all facets of the game. Maybe a little iffy on zone exits, but we'll get him some help there. Posting 9 shots/60 and 2 points/60 this organization hopes there are still a few positive years left in those legs....especially with 5 years at 5.35 mil left on the deal.
