I cannot believe that wasn't deliberate. Nobody could possibly be that dumb.

If it was deliberate, I don't even think it means anything. It might serve as a nice cover for some poo poo they want to bury. They're already saying a snap GE in september is on the cards so it's not like this adds new information.

Isn't Damian Hinds one of the more overt "gently caress boris" guys? If so it may well just be preparing for Boris loving up and an early election "having" to happen. As opposed to giving the game away.

Belfast Zoo used to have free-roaming ringtailed lemurs, they were lovely. I understand why they don’t do it any more but interacting with them and the prairie dogs was one of the comparatively few highlights of being a kid round there in the early 90s.

Aww they don't have the lemurs anymore? They were one of the better bits. When I was back a few years ago I was wondering why I didn't see them, thought the poo poo weather had kept them inside. The prairie dogs are great though. I remember they used to interfere with so many picnics.

Thinking technology has the potential to be useful to humans is not remotely the same thing as "we must always be 'progressing'" because that is the mindset of capitalism. No we mustn't always progress, technological and productive progress without a social foundation is exactly what got us where we are today. A perfectly static world is infinitely preferable to one where everyone gets killed by dickheads shouting PROGRESS as they wipe out most of the earth's biosphere and population.

Progress is good actually, its literally what the word means. You're talking about regression or digression or some other ression.

Maybe if we get to Trek levels of technology sure but come on, wouldn't living in freaking neo tribalism forever and only thinking of your own survival just get boring? Heck, even if you fixed health care, inequality, fake news and fascism today (which would be fantastic and better than corporate dystopia) wouldn't you get bored if Facebook were still the same 40 years from now? I'm a big fan of the current theory that weed causes mass shootings - I saw someone posted the Hitchens tweet and I think there was a Guardian article or something about it? All those famous Dutch and Portuguese shootings I keep hearing about, it's wild how those just keep happening there thanks to the easy availability of the worst drug there is.

Also I had a third interview for a cool job today, they're down to me and one other candidate so hopefully I get to stop being one of those layabout scroungers you've heard so much about and rejoin the ranks of genius hyperproductive techbros. Life is boring at the moment. That's part of the point of the loving system. So I'll take boredom where the planet isn't rapidly dying and there aren't hundred-billionaires, over boredom where it is and there are.

Motherfucker the solution to inequality and people having lovely lives is not "well we just need to produce more poo poo so that the people at the bottom have enough stuff" it's to stop the fuckers at the top from hoarding everything and forcing everyone else to have lovely lives so that they can hoard even more loving poo poo.

Christ almighty you people annoy me. How the hell do you think we're going to even get to that point without radical changes to how resources are distributed? You're looking at millions of people dying because of that idiotic idea and you can't think of anything but "well I'd be really bored if we didn't kill them all because I need a new loving facebook game to play"]

The problems in the world are not ones of productive capacity. They are problems of how productive capacity is utilized. They are social problems you god drat nerd. I know you don't like thinking about society but that does not change the loving truth of the matter

What an utterly worthless example of a human being, who cannot imagine anything to do with their lives other than loving consume novelties. What a miserable parody of human potential you are.
