The easiest way to tell that the opposition is acting in bad faith by boycotting national elections is that they'll still participate in local elections.

Let me tell you about my opinion about Bernie Sanders and why Donald Trump is his true successor.

You cannot vote Hillary Clinton because she is worse than Trump.

What the gently caress? Does he mean outside world as in "outside his own party structure" or "outside Venezuela (the international community)". Cause if it's the latter then lol

It's actually not surprising at all considering the opposition (on US order) boycotted the last round of elections and used that boycott to declare Maduro illegitimate. It's the same plan again here. Too unpopular to actually beat Maduro in an election, their best bet is to refuse to acknowledge elections, dishonestly denounce the Maduro government for being undemocratic, and keep applying international pressure led by the US's starvation sanctions in the hope that so many people die horrible starvation deaths that the government will collapse and they can, at long last, enrich themselves by giving away Venezuelan's oil wealth to Exxon.

poo poo like this was the breaking point for me assuming any good faith out of the pro-coup opposition. flat out telling election observers not to watch doesn’t help them at all unless they knew they’d lose fairly.

the “we don’t want to validate this fixed election” argument doesn’t make sense. the election somehow simultaneously so corrupt there’s no point running but also impossible for outside election observers to notice?

trying to work within the constraints of private markets always has lovely results, yet this is the very thing liberals and private capitalists demand

the US was literally paying farmers to destroy food during the great depression during a mass hunger crisis lol

maduro is already doing what he should be doing which is to literally deliver food directly to people who need it to try to prevent subversion from private capitalists who want to see poor people starve to death to result in maduro's overthrow

like it is beyond parody. the onion cannot satire it. the AP is literally writing articles on how maduro giving people food who need food during a food crisis as evil dictator control

it's why showing private grocery stores stocked full of food that poor people cannot access because they do not have the money is important and contrary to the AP narrative

If a political figure gains mass support by helping provide for the material needs of peoples it's bribery or oppression. The US is a true democracy because citizens get to choose between political parties who do not promise to improve people's lives.
