Most in my circle would be happy with Warren/Sanders or Sanders/Warren. Personally I think outside of the Native American ancestry gaffe, Warren is in a better spot to take the nomination and she and Sanders share enough ideas that they would make a great team.

I like Warren. I consider her to be the most policy-focused and most likely to achieve campaign goals but I've been skeptical that she could get the nomination. I still kinda am. It has nothing to do with her qualifications and everything to do with the media/political class along with Americans being loving idiots. She's made it abundantly clear that any initiatives would be directly paid for by taxing the rich, in many cases listing exactly how, but all the media will spin it as 'but how will she pay for this entitlement?!' while the talking heads are convincing people that no, you should be against a Yacht tax.

I include in that designation of 'capital' the bought-and-paid for consultancy and punditry classes that exist to represent the desires of the ruling class. Those people/institutions would absolutely love another four years of centrist do-nothing bullshit from Biden because the universe does not exist past next quarter's numbers to them.

From the Fox News poll just completed (and they're a drat good pollster): https://www.foxnews.com/politics/fox-news-poll-biden-still-leads-democratic-race-warren-climbs-into-second quote:By a wide 60-36 percent margin, Democratic primary voters prefer a nominee who will “restore the country and get American politics back to normalcy” over one who will “fundamentally change” how Washington works. Democrats are currently trying to figure your question out. There's a near identical push-pull between Democrats who just want this Trump poo poo over with and Democrats who want to go hard left.

I think the party as a whole is moving left but it's a generational thing, and anywhere from 2-12 years it'll finally tip over. There's no crystal ball saying when, just the relentless march of time in conjunction with generational views. It's the same thing with ~blue texas~ which people have been talking about for well over a decade at this point. I think it'll happen, but it won't happen in the immediate future and I don't know if it'll happen for sure because of the voter suppression hellscape.

Wallace wrote a piece for Rollling Stone in 2000 about the John McCain 2000 campaign and its pretty great. It's collected in "Consider the Lobster" which has some other great essays as well. He just barely touched on the fact that the big parties really don't want anybody to actually vote, and its funny to read something from almost 20 years ago talking about it. Anyways, I just really like that essay and I think more people should read it.
