I imagine watching Boris Johnson gently caress your girlfriend is like a crossover between Eyes Wide Shut and Benny Hill.

Again posting this in my own tweet because it shows the article preview.

https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/tories-raise-state-pension-age-18953679

quote:

The Centre for Social Justice is chaired by ex-Welfare Secretary and Tory leader Iain Duncan Smith and Tory governments get many of their ideas from it.

In 2009 it dreamed up Universal Credit , adopted as policy by PM David Cameron a year later.

Its boss Andy Cook insists: “Working longer potentially improves health and wellbeing– we don’t do enough to help older people stay in work. The state pension doesn’t reflect healthy working life expectancy.”

The report also claims that a million pension-age Britons want to work, but can’t find bosses who will employ them.

It suggests a system of “mid-life MOTs” for older staff, leading to flexible hours and special training for those who stay in work.”

A Department for Work and Pensions spokesperson said: “Everyone’s State Pension age is unique to them and in 2017 we raised the future retirement age to 68 so that it is sustainable now and for future generations.

"We’re creating opportunities for people of all generations with record employment.”

A lot of older people want to work but can't because the state was giving them too much money so we must take their money for the good of their health.

Not any different from here in the states. There are plenty of examples but one I can personally attest to is that they clamored for years for stricter ID laws see voter suppression and false sense of security and the only people I’ve really ever had uproariously and even violently get mad about the rules they set are those who wanted them to begin with. “If I was a nope you would give me that ID” is something heard all the drat time.

The entitlement of the older generations is astoundingly outrageous.

I'll' just read the original :smuggo:

Really though, Raymond Briggs was great, I was lucky to grow up in a house with stuff like Gentleman Jim, When the Wind Blows, Father Christmas on the shelves. But the one that left the lasting impression was his book on the Falklands War, The Tin-Pot Foreign General and the Old Iron Woman, it's in the style of kids book with bright coloured paintings of the Tin Pot General & Iron Woman literally mad of tin pots & iron respectively but that lightness is contrast with rough sketches of all these soldiers with missing limbs who are told to stay away from a victory parade. Really think that coloured my impressions of war.

This is just the old Pissflaps song & dance where you ask him, "OK, like who?" & you just get the worthless reply of "anyone" & "it's not up to me". They've got nothing.
