There haven't been any votes in the primary yet, and all the poll numbers published are produced by propagandists with a narrative to drive, not by statisticians practicing agenda-free science.

Yeah, here's the thing: propaganda shapes narratives and drives voter belief. If people are saying "electability" is what their main quality in a candidate is, and their preferred candidate is Biden, their definition of electability is driven by perception not policy or even reality. Poll numbers are a powerful support for their belief, even if it is shallow, poorly considered. They will say he is most electable until his polls fall or he loses badly early, and the latter is not likely if the most motivated base of voters, old people, continue to refuse to examine their chosen candidate beyond a quality reinforced by their favorite propagandists.

In this album, you'll see photos of a art, music, burlesque, South Bend's Bernie Rally, and Trump's rally. The Trump Rally was met with overwhelming opposition from South Bend's progressive population. It was dubbed the 'gently caress trump' rally - a week before the Albuquerque anti-trump protests, and around the same time (I think /just/ before) the Trump rally in Chicago that got cancelled. When I first arrived at the rally, I ran into some of my friends that are founders of the Nu Black Power movement of South Bend. They had a large banner that read 'gently caress Trump', and asked me to help carry that banner. Here's a pic (I didn't take):https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10102551177860967&set=a.10100128507022747&type=3&theater

Here's mayor pete at the same event, taking a photo with some fans:

South Bend is a /brilliant/ town. It is (relatively) well integrated. The BLM activists are great people that hold nuanced views and keep well-informed. To point to two data-points that you can google from your battlestation and then conclude 'PETE HAS A BLACK PEOPLE PROBLEM' is wrong, because you're trying to speak /for/ the people in question. If you want to know what black people in South Bend think of mayor Pete, you ought ask /black people in South Bend/!

It just so happens that I have more than two data-points; I've been watching Pete's administration from the beginning, as an anarchist activist homeless dude. I have a granular understanding of the politics of that town, having attended many city council meetings. I'm well known in that city, among the political class, among the activists, among the artists and performers, among the developers and building owners, among the entrepreneurs, the hackers, the seedy underground and the 'respectable' gentried class. I'm telling you, your two-data-point narrative has missed /everything/.

Posting a video of himself holding a sign at a Trump rally more than two years ago and listing all the activists he's personally met doesn't really have anything to do with the 2020 Dem Primary, nor does it really even have anything to do with Pete Buttigieg. And he's already been probed several times this month for pretending he's going to talk about Buttigieg, only to launch into a story about himself instead.

I am saying: there is no realistic correlation between what the results will be when voting begins, and what is being reported as "poll results" now. The methodology is bad top to bottom, if the aim is actually doing statistics.

Biden's support is still mostly name recognition, both the low-information voter and the cautious ones who want a known quantity. So far polls indicate that the majority of Biden voters are fine with Bernie as a second choice.

But as far as what's being done... the officer in question resigned, and the Mayor (with a consensus among the city council and other local authorities) have put real money into a consulting firm that'll do a full department-wide analysis.

see you in 7 days, but the officer resigning isn't justice. despite him being racist and a murderer, he'll just move on to another department to brutalize and kill black people somewhere else, and the south bend PD will hire a new racist to fill the hole left by his resignation. also, throwing money at 21CP to get a "full department-wide analysis" is the definition of throwing money at a problem to make it go away. the people behind 21CP are incredibly ineffectual, having hailed from obama's task force on policing after the murder of michael brown in ferguson. the task force on 21st century of policing, in their report on how to fix policing, lauded baltimore as an example to aspire to when showing how a police force can make itself accountable to the public. this report was released shortly after freddie gray was murdered by the baltimore PD when they gave him a rough ride. none of those cops ended up facing justice either, but 21CP sure thought they would be held sufficiently accountable when they released their report on 21st century policing.

in any case, pete wasting 100s of thousands of dollars hiring a lovely consulting firm just so he doesn't have to do what obviously should be and needs to be done (hold the police accountable for murdering a man) is not the solution to the problem you think it is.

it is super weird that a supposed anarchist continually kowtows to a centrist monster and feels the need to defend said centrist monster by saying you personally know him and know he's a good guy and we should trust you because of your anarchist cred.

nina turner is the best choice for bernie's VP, bar none. unlike warren, she's cut from the same cloth as bernie, and she almost certainly would pick up where he left off (cause she's not just following his vision, it's their vision for america) if he died, and it would be a really good springboard for her becoming president in 2024.

Bernie being older than Biden and Trump really worries me (not in the 'I wouldn't vote for' sense but just in the actually kinda likely to die in office sense and also the probably can't run for re-election sense) but drat he wears it well. Still playing baseball and able to put sentences together properly and everything!

That shouldn't be a bar the actual president and his top polling opponent currently are failing to clear but you know, hellworld.

Nina Turner extremely owns and listening to her speak gives me the same warm fuzzies I got from Obama except she's actually going to fix poo poo instead of just pay lip service to it. Get her into a seat of power stat.
