So today's Boris is great news is a meeting with Macron, where he presumably will show him what he thinks of "the european project", to use the same term as the BBC.

I'm really starting to think this is deliberate.

Just got back from Berlin which is an awesome city and so laid back.

Now I feel depressed coming back to this dire shithole. I don't usually get the holiday blues, but man, just coming back into this environment and hearing people talking about mortgages and Brexit on the Piccadilly just made me want to go back to Heathrow.

Hey, Berlin has its own problems: gentrification and soaring rents have been causing a lot of social tensions (although, unlike in London, something is actually getting done about that). Cool city though, where did you stay? I was over by Kruezberg in the East.

Looking forward to Boris's amazing plan for no-backstop Brexit that he comes up with in a month. Maybe he should take a leaf out of May's book and sit in the dark meditating on the subject.

Monopoly occupies that curious niche between the simple game tools like a deck of cards or set of dominoes or dice where you can play endless games from throughout the ages, and the modern in depth games involving d20s and rulebooks or euro-style technical play.

It's also poo poo.

Oh cool are we doing board game chat again?

My fave co-op game is Eldritch Horror - solid mechanics, ample opportunities for dramatic readings & hammy roleplay, and perfectly well balanced such that if you play well it almost always seems to get to the state where it's just about possible to win if you pull out all the stops. For yet a third Cthulu-themed "co-op", Mansions of Madness is good for a laugh - the app basically GMs for you, good atmosphere and a fun bit of chaos when people start to go insane & a bit of backstabbing comes into play. Will have to try out Elder Sign!

In other news: I've got a full day job interview tomorrow for a role I really loving want, including a teaching demo, a lunch with the whole department (and the competition, which sounds awkward as gently caress) and a panel interview. The whole process sounds really poo poo. & my computer just decided to restart & the autorecover on PowerPoint didn't work for some reason so I have to redo the whole loving thing :argh:

Good luck with the interview! Eldritch Horror and job hunting both show you the nightmare of vast indifference, but at least in EH you can catch it in a fishing net and batter it to death

I like playing Monopoly against the computer because it only takes an elementary knowledge of probability to know the properties you're most likely to land in (orange and red, IIRC) and thus I can win nearly every single time.

Whoever made that socialist Monopoly can gently caress right off. Humanity is so hosed that spite and hatred are viable things to profit from.
