I agree 110% on the Porsche stealing the show with that paint scheme.

Went to the Rolex Historic Motorsports Reunion last weekend. Saw some Koenigseggs. Got too much sun. Saw Adam Corolla put the Porsche 935 he bought for $4.4M into the dirt 3 feet from the wall. Took like 1,000 bad pictures. And like 3 good ones.

Casual Jesko, parked next to a Agera RS.

509 cubic inches. NOT the loudest thing at the track.

Loudest thing at the track that day. A (the?)Trans-Am Merkur XR4Ti.

BMW show cars out on their demonstration laps. The BMW V12 LMR car was in a couple of the races, filling in for a privately-owned 320i Race Car that decided not to show.

Ford GT racecar on demo laps.

RX7 Race Car. Sounded SWEET.

Oh, geeze, that Bentley concept.

Did the guy who was scratch-building a Porsche race car, 917 IIRC, with two Subaru H6s make it? I believe he was invited.

edit: this guy:

edit again: oops, he's invited to Lime Rock on Labor Day, not The Quail.

Just like any tool infomercial, I question the efficacy at more than 15 ft*lbs. Strap wrenches are $5 at harbor freight. Plus if you want a home brew way to take off a filter without a filter wrench, to just drive a screwdiver through it and use it like a handle.

Yeah but if you're in the middle of sub-Saharan Africa or the Mekong delta, an old motorbike chain and a ring spanner are going to be a lot easier to find than the nearest Harbor Freight outlet.

Plus smashing a screwdriver through it makes a mess, this is a much more elegant solution.

That's good and well if the chain doesn't slip through the wrench. You can see the person holding the chain while applying torque which means it's probably not biting into the wrench. If sub Saharan Jiffy Lube changed it last, there's a good chance an elephant put it on and it's stuck.

Shout out to Toyota for putting the IS200's oil filter in the hardest to reach place, sat behind the engine mount where you can only get to it with your left hand laying down underneath the car. No room for any sort of tools, you are hosed and removing the intake on top if you can't remove it by hand.

It's literally a chain wrench, which start at $29.99 at princess auto (Canuck harbor freight), and I saw one selling for $299.99 on Amazon. So it's a pretty good deal if you've got a box wrench and chain just lying around rusting.
