I genuinely can't wait for Kamala to suspend her campaign and wailing of donut twitter with it. Also Warren's staffers probably need a reprimand, unless she did this knowingly. https://twitter.com/OrganizingPower/status/1165132166344392704 Nonsense fucked around with this message at 15:56 on Aug 24, 2019 |

Nonsense posted:I genuinely can't wait for Kamala to suspend her campaign and wailing of donut twitter with it Unfortunately we'll have to wait until she embarrasses herself by placing third or fourth in California before she drops. Those Hampton dollars will keep her afloat for awhile yet, and she'll get even more if she manages to get a good debate zinger or two, and she probably will since her entire campaign strategy seems to revolve around saying things at debates she'll have to walk back later.

Warren has this fun thing going on where every criticism made of Bernie last go around is even more true of her because she doesn't have a personal history she can point to that folks can look at and say "well at least there's something to indicate they're not just spouting words."

Heck Yes! Loam! posted:I can't see them uniting on one ticket, but would that even work, or would it piss off their bases to the point of detriment? By the time one of them drops (ideally Warren) their core base of supporters will likely not respond well, so no it wouldn't work. Besides, anyone who looks at a 70-something year old candidate and says "you know who would make for a good VP? Another septuagenarian!" is an idiot you should definitely ignore. Either one of them needs to pick a young POC to cover their bases, with the emphasis on young. Bernie would have to pick someone ideologically aligned so that people would be assured his agenda wouldn't die with him, which completely cuts out anyone currently running, but Warren can get away with picking some centrist shitlib like Harris since Warren has no actual ideological convictions beyond "banks bad, maybe regulate??"

Lightning Knight posted:“Warren sides with management” is hyperbole imo without direct proof it was like, authorized by Warren as opposed to a decision by the staffers, but I'm sure if there was a literal picket line, they maybe would have found another hotel. According to the story there's ~20 hotels in Vegas, not all of which are ignoring the union?

Chilichimp posted:I'm sure if there was a literal picket line, they maybe would have found another hotel. According to the story there's ~20 hotels in Vegas, not all of which are ignoring the union? I think it represents a case of campaigns probably not paying enough attention - if you’re going to take the time to issue a statement of support for a union, you gotta triple check what hotels are available in the area if any. But I don’t think it represents some kind of actual personal failing on the part of Warren and Williamson, so much as a lack of campaign oversight by their management.

Right. I doubt Warren staffers crossed the line as a deliberate 'gently caress you' to unionists. They just don't care
|
![]() |

Warren had already declared support for the union months before, back in March. So either they were too dumb to realize where the labor action they themselves had declared for was happening, or that they just didn't care (because they're loving scabs).

I agree with Captain_Maclaine, "the 2 staffers weren't aware of a labor dispute when they were hunting for cheap hotel rooms on Trivago" is a perfectly reasonable conclusion.

Sure, but when Warren says "I stand with the Palms Workers" then allows her staff to break her promise that's a huge sign of bad leadership. It is like Harris and her excuses that "it was just my staff denying trans rights using my name" that's bad leadership. This is an example of bad leadership from Warren.
