Has an PM ever lost their first two votes? While not as damning as May being the first PM in history whose government was found in contempt, she also didn't care because nothing happened. But Alexander Boris de racist Johnson, seems to have set a new record.

I'm watching these dessicated corpses shuffling around in the Lords, and wondering why on earth they have to vote like this. Just give them some loving buttons in front of their seats or something, jesus. Then it wouldn't take eleventy billion hours to vote on all this crap

Until this week I'd have said that could end badly but the Tory party is in an absolute state and I don't know how they recover in just a few weeks/months. The tory vote floor doesn't base their voting on things that actually exist so it's not like any of this will have impacted those votes at all, it's going to come down to how much of the crazed right wing vote goes BRX vs. soft left / centre vote going LD and GRN A particularly insane set of political opinions came up at work today where one of the guys who usually works remotely set out the following position: 1. Boris is doing a good thing for "trying something to get Brexit sorted" and Parliament is being bad by preventing no deal because it stops the ability to negotiate 2. He voted for Remain, still thinks that Remaining is the correct decision, and voted Labour in the last 3 elections 3. Thinks that Corbyn is terrible for totally indecipherable reasons, not related to any 'normal' anti-Corbyn talking points (such as AS, "friends with terrorists" or wrong position on Brexit), therefore he will have to vote LD from now on Given that this is by far the least bad opinion I've heard from anyone in the sales team at work I think being a salesperson breaks part of your brain or requires it to be pre-broken. At least he didn't say that the MPs need to "all get together and agree on something". Why do I have to work with a bunch of loving morons who don't understand the concept of arguing in bad faith

LOL i never thought I'd ever see a less consequential head of state than Theresa May but here we loving go and I couldn't wish it on a better person. All his years of pretending to be a clown ended up amounting to nothing, It's delicious.

Good stuff happened at work today, the team now knows how to have each others' backs. I also got to hear a landlord whining about what a Labour government will do to his "pension" he's building by exploiting his tenants' basic needs for a place to sleep that isn't a shop doorway, which was only made more delicious when the guy he was complaining to said "well, I'm a socialist so..."

I legit cannot believe how quickly he's hosed up his image in such a short amount of time. It took a failed election for May to look a shambling loving wreck; Johnson barely managed five minutes. If you pardon this ignorant American for asking, what would it take to get rid of the whole "House of Lords" thing? (Though in some ways, the U.S. Senate might be worse...)

It just occured to me that with the expulsion of the Tory rebels, the Conservative party now has less seats in the Commons than they won in the 2010 election. Even better, if the libdems joined the tory coalition of chaos, they still would not have a majority...
