So when you see replies like this to tweets and they just seem a bit off, everyone calls them bots. https://twitter.com/Ima96242672/status/1170031993226244096 What do they mean by that? It doesn't seem like the message itself has been automatically written by a bot, and when I go through the account's tweets and replies most seem to have been written by a (non-native speaking) person. It's all just slightly...off.

A Twitter username which is just name + 8 numbers means they didn't put their own username in, doesn't always mean it's a bot, might be laziness sometimes. Also they're not exclusively right-wing, I've seen e.g. pro-Corbyn tweets from them before.

Corbyn is a good parliamentarian; he’s not a particularly effective speaker in the weird theatre that is parliamentary debate (not awful but not great) but he knows the rules and as mentioned above, has the discipline to keep quiet when there’s no need to speak.

I was trying to figure out why this proposal was even considered serious within the U.K. Government, who must well know the EU's position. It comes down to a short list of points: 1) The government expects that technology will solve customs for non-agrifood products. Some kind of fantasy where Northern Irish agrifood regulations are harmonized with the EU and Ireland, while a camera at the border does everything else. 2) Stormont gets to nix almost any deal, maybe? Apparently the EU/Irish position is that 1 is OK, as long as it applies to all goods and 2 is unacceptable because it is negotiating a deal with a unilateral take back clause which will be decided by a political body that does not currently meet and is not involved in negotiations. Anyway, the U.K. Government is stupid as hell for proposing this. Someone had to have said "we have to do something!" MickeyFinn fucked around with this message at 10:01 on Sep 7, 2019 |

Since you guys like nature & garden-y stuff from time to time, last night me and my fiance took about 90 kilos of apples from her moms allotment to a juicer and made a bout 40 liters of juice. We pasteurized the majority of it and put it in 10 liter kegs, though we also got these plastic bags and paper boxes to put them in: Also left some unpasteurized but all that has to be frozen or drunk within days, or fermented into cider. I have to say I hope I age as well as the guy who owns the juicer place, he was over 80 when we first started going there around 2013 or so and he's still going, taller than me (I'm 6'2") and he lifts these heavy rear end bags like it's nothing onto the scale when we get there.
