If the Browns get their head together, I think they'll be okay. Their defense and offense was doing okayish outside of the penalties until they just got shook. Counting them out just from this would be a mistake, I think.

I thought they looked good if you exclude penalties until time started to run out and they started getting shook. Unfortunately penalties can't really be excluded, so they looked downright awful.

At least "Stop committing historic numbers of penalties" is a much easier goal than our usual situation week 1.

It's gonna be funny in local social media. Most of my friends bought WAY too much into the hype this year. Like a realistic upper bound was probably eeking out a playoff spot this year, but people were acting like we were a top 5 team or the team to beat in the NFL. Those same people will act like the sky is falling after losing 1 game.

Maybe ticket prices will go back down, stubhub had the opener well over 3x what the usually go for. I mean, anything that wasn't in the upper half of the corner of the nosebleeds was going for over $200 a seat.

Edit: Forgot the word penalties in the first sentence

so, question: rams receiver catches ball, fumbles, panthers recover, ruled not a catch.

rivera challenges that it was a catch.

the refs say "yes it was a catch, but we can't tell if his knee was down or not, so the call stands."

Carolina lost a timeout for this.

Shouldn't they have at least retained the TO?

Man, I’m not exactly sure how good the Ravens are after that game but it was very very fun to watch.

It seemed like Miami was a total mess, like the team hardly even knew what it was doing a lot of the time.

If what he challenged was "it was a fumble that the panthers recovered" then no because he technically lost that challenge. The refs can go back and fix anything they see wrong in the replay but you have to win on the specific thing you challenged for to keep your TO.

Well Funchess held on to the ball, and Ebron dropped a TD, Santa Grandpa shanked 3 kicks, what a world. Luck would have throw 4 picks so I am ok with him getting fat on deep fried butter.

the bengals are clearly flawed but at least they're entertaining which is way more than anyone could say about the lovely marvin lewis teams. shame about that last lovely call ruining an otherwise fun game but not like anything would happen anyway.

The Colts left a touchdown (somehow catch), 2 field goals and an extra point on the field. They might be pretty good if they can get their poo poo together.

Chargers did what they needed to do and won. Rivers and the offense will win them a lot of games.

Our offensive line is BAD.

That pick by Hooker in the endzone was insane and we should have just run the ball, kicked the field goal and gone up by two scores.

Defense looked really shaky vs the run too. But legit Rivers got the ball in his hand and ya'll were getting at least SOME points on the board.
