Pretty quick since the game lets you keep all your overpowered weapons/gear and iirc stats so for like 70-80% of the game you can just basic attack and plow through every enemy. And it's entirely up to you how much it's worth it. I did it because I was painfully close to 100% and I'm just one of those people who has to finish RPGs out.

You can turn on the auto combat or whatever it's called and that will work just fine until Shido's palace at least. Only exception is encountering something with a very specific resistance to something the party is currently using. One tip if you are trying to Platinum: in NG+ you will simply not get the opportunity to acquire the low level personas, since you will be too powerful and just kill them outright rather than getting a knockdown. The good news is: almost all of them can be made via Fusion in the Velvet Room. Googling "persona 5 fusion calculator" will show you the way. Until I figured that out, I thought I had screwed myself out of filling out the list.

You might also be able to get them by driving up their rear end in Mementos with Ryuji's instakill perk. My mask slots keep filling up every time I go higher than a certain level. Might take a while to get a specific one though.

I'm a ways into the 5th palace and while Futaba is great, I kind of miss hearing "TOO LATE FOR APOLOGIES!" when I go in for the beatdown. Also, I would have worked on the arcade kid confidant much sooner if I'd known how fun it is to just unload on a group of enemies the second the fight starts, regardless of whatever damage it does.  I'm not even quite to the endgame yet but this game has been so great and fulfilling for $13 that I feel really stupid with what little you get spending that much on microtransactions these days

Saw this on the P5 subreddit today. This youtube channel VisualKythe is doing a real-time playthrough of P5. By real-time I mean: he started it in April and plays one in-game day for each real-life day. Apparently when there's a time skip he will be taking a break until the dates match up again. Interesting idea at least, and he's still going strong after starting in April, so....he might actually finish.

Some new P5R gameplay and what's that? MEMENTOS HAS DIFFERENT MUSIC. Also loading times seem quicker, the post-battle victory screen is quicker, and you seem to get points (?) for progressing downwards in Mementos by collecting orbs and you can activate a.. thing before heading down an escalator that seems to save your points. No more finding the exit and fast traveling down then? However, you can exchange those points for items by finding the egghead kid in Mementos, including items that increase attributes for Personas. Plus you can use those points to add modifiers to Mementos, like extra EXP, Money etc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kar0cYHBesg There also seems to be new character art for the dialog popups and a Showtime! command that randomly activates in battle that lets you do the two-character special attacks.

The new Mementos music sounds good but honestly if they're gonna have you down there as long as they did last time, I wish they'd just put in a custom soundtrack option so you can ride to whatever you want.

I got P5 earlier this year when Joker in Smash got me interested in his game so I already did my discount version. Plus the game was so loving good that the glow is still present so I'm presently a big enough P5 slut to pay full price

Have they said if Persona 5 games are able to be imported directly into P5R or usable for P5R NG+? Because I’d love to pick back up on my Persona 5 game but since I was only 40 hours in I’m just waiting for P5R instead.

According to http://www.pushsquare.com/news/2019/05/persona_5_save_data_wont_work_with_persona_5_the_royal there will be a "bonus" for having a P5 save, but no word on what that is yet. That of course referenced an interview in a Famitsu magazine from May so things may have changed since. Supposedly, this even includes PS3 save data as long as it's on the PSN cloud.
