People in Georgia are mostly unwilling to buy a car with any amount of rust. A car where the suspension is rusting apart has no chance. ... it's really not that bad for Michigan though.

I moved from Nevada to Connecticut about 10 years ago. People didn't believe my car was from 1994 since it was rust free from the south. I have winter cars now that I run into the ground and have my main car for 6 months out of the year when they don't salt the roads.

Buying a used car out here was a goddamn dream. My car's 20-years-old and is still spotless. It's remarkable. Even if I had garage space back east, I don't think I'd ever have purchased a car I cared about in New England. It's a cursed land. But I respect your commitment to conquering it.

I live in CT and have a Florida car. It doesn't see the road from first snow till about April when the street sweepers come out. It's a commitment keeping a car rust free.

I just looked at the screenshot first and it looked like business as usual at worst. I consistently have bad ideas. That's why the Miata is the highway cruiser and the WRX is the track car and spent 5 figures for maybe 30 hp?

That front end of that nb1 D: I think the only bits I’d want off of it would be the 4.3 torsen and the VICS intake manifold.

Not only that, but the huge problem of the short filler neck on those means you can't really gas the thing up properly without the pump pausing every 30 seconds. And the zero offset wheels, and the really idiotic strut spacers up front. I was just completely done with the idea of how much back-alley fuckery required to get what amounts to making a formerly somewhat useful car into a useless slow toy (unless you spend $5000+ on a turbo) In other words, who wants to buy my 95?

I think toy cars without any option of roofs are silly anyway. I'd be able to drive it about 30 days per year in Michigan.

This is almost related, but the day before I got new tires mounted I spun my rear wheels all through an intersection right in front of a police officer who didn't pull me over. Wasn't trying to spin them, there was just so little traction left that even slightly pulling away was enough to make them spin. That's the closest I've come to crashing but I was going straight and there was a lot of room so nothing extreme happened.

I managed to hit a badger with my 10AE and cracked the front bumper + some misc plastic poo poo under the car on one of my first rides in the car. FML. Turns out 10+ year old brake fluid doesn't do much good for braking power when you really need to stop in a hurry

Is the top discolored on the inside just because it is and who cares or is it discolored because it's leaking and you need to get a new one? Changing tops isn't hard, just time consuming, but you might be able to knock off some of the price if you need to replace it.
