God bless the NHS. I’ll admit to being a bit down on it in the past (they hosed up multiple surgeries on my hand in the late 90s leaving one finger as a kind of claw), but today they really knocked it out the park. My wife’s been ill for the past few days with vomiting and other gut stuff.. today she was literally thrashing in pain from it all. I called 111, and they had an ambulance with us within ten minutes of hanging up, which in turn got her straight to the hospital. She was seen and assessed in about twenty minutes after that, and on an IV for rehydration and pain relief ten after that. Everyone has been friendly and supporting (despite obviously being rushed off their feet). I just keep tearing up when I think about it. I wish there was more I could do to support them in their work, or at least show how appreciative I am but i’m such an emotional wreck right now even trying to say ‘thank you’ results in me breaking down. And they have enough on their plates without having to deal with that poo poo.
