I was wondering if we could do that as well, doesn't seem to be a reason we can't and even selling at a profit margin of literally one cent would still bring in pretty huge sums for funding further expansion and stuff. Like, not as good as real socialism obviously but it'd be a pretty great way to gently caress over some of the worst capitalists of all by just using state power to undercut them globally while showing that socialism can do some great things and making things a lot easier for a lot of poor comrades across the pond. forkboy84 posted:https://twitter.com/bbcnickrobinson/status/1176555944689487872?s=20 Particularly lol to see all the frothers in the comments going nuts about Nick suddenly being fanatically pro-Corbs rather than accepting he just basically said "Labour have a popular platform and a lot of energy" like what do you think the news is meant to do (It's to unthinkingly report whatever propaganda bollocks supports today's narrative) Oscar Romeo Romeo posted:Move to the Kent coast and use the real tiny train world, which during its active seasons runs a regular service. Like I think Canada subsidises its dairy industry and the US whack import tarriffs on any dairy being imported to make it fair for American farmers. I might have that the wrong way round 'cause I'm just going by memory but yeah, principle applies.

Chiswick is much nicer than Clapham and I'll fight anyone that says otherwise. If it's cheap hotels you want (although there will be many, many shades of "good" within that), look around Earls Court/Brompton Road, but fundamentally anywhere within Zone 2 and north of the river is extremely easy to get to and from. If you're looking to do touristy things centred around the West End, also consider the Paddington area - not quite as rough as Earls Court, 10-ish minutes walk to Oxford Circus.

Went to uni in Manchester, and lived there for a bit afterwards. For some reason I always used to have really vivid dreams about the tram network going places I actually wanted to go, rather than just Piccadilly station. Anyway I made it home a couple of minutes ago and now I'm laying into the cider to stop the shakes. I'm, uh, sure this is an appropriate response to stress. WhatEvil posted:Nah that's literally what tariffs are for - to protect industry from foreign, subsidised versions. I think it has to be the other way around. Canada used to do dairy subsidies, but since the 90s that's transitioned to a complex supply management system where domestic production is tailored to meet domestic demand, with high tariffs on most dairy imports to ensure prices stay high for domestic producers. There's a limited amount of duty-free import allowed, but I think it's <5% of the market.

Hey Dr. Fruitbat and mancgoonians in general, I'm about to move to Manchester. Is it a terrible idea to consider buying a house (guillotines aside) in between swinton and salford if it's all I can afford?
