And he kept serving cold fast food to invited teams even when the government was back open. What a loving child.

I wonder how many times they had to call the surrounding fast food joints to place their orders for the first Presidential Football Banquet before the managers believed them and actually took the order.

The most charitable understanding is that CNN is falsely assigning a leadership role to less visible and less active members of Congress regarding impeachment. At worst, that article is whitewashing and trying to destroy the work that POC/progressives have done getting all of this work done. Make the actual leftists do all the real work while offering nothing but empty platitudes and dragging your feet all the way, then take credit for hopping on the bandwagon at he last minute when it becomes obvious that change is inevitable. That's the Liberal MO right there. It never changes.

There were reports at the time that the president has to personally pay for those dinners for one reason or another. So of course Trump picks the cheapest food he could find to save money.

I've also heard that he's afraid of being poisoned, so for some reason McDonald's is less likely to be poisoned? Or something?

Hiro Protagonist posted:I've also heard that he's afraid of being poisoned, so for some reason McDonald's is less likely to be poisoned? Or something? His rationale was that no one would know that he was coming if he just walked into a McDonald's and placed an order, the idea being that the food was already made when he arrived so it wouldn't be poisoned. But now a days places like McDonald's generally makes food on a by-order basis in order to decrease food waste and because of improved food preparation standards and techniques since the days when Trump first thought up the idea. So these days he could walk into a McDonald's, order a Big Mac, and the counter guy could go "ONE BIG MAC COMING RIGHT UP MR. TRUMP" very loudly so that the kitchen staff could "accidentally" drop the raw patty on the ground about 10 or 12 times before and after they grill it, dress it and wrap it up to be delivered directly to the tray of Donald John Trump, Large American Toddler President. What I'm saying is, he's a loving idiot who doesn't think stuff through completely.

Haha you know what it reminds me of in an insane way that nobody else will relate to. When I was a kid I had a book about Orcas. It was written for kids, obviously, but with a scientific bent and full of facts and photos dressed up for maximum kid appeal. There was one page where it talked about how much an orca ate per day; it said some big number of pounds of fish, and "This would be like if you ate 300 hamburgers per day!!!" Or some number like that. And there was a full-page photo of a wall of stacked-up cheeseburgers, with a gap in the middle with a girl standing behind the burgers and making a face like So yeah. In concept and execution it looks exactly like the kind of imagery you'd use to capture the brain of a ten-year-old kid who has just learned about the existence of the lottery.
