Jerry Cotton posted:Why the gently caress does a greenhouse have a floor The second one has a floor because the dude just pulled the (rotting) sides off his shed to use the frame, so he just left the existing shed floor in place rather than tear it up. Although he says that it's also rotting, so not sure that was the best choice. The first one has a floor because it was built by an idiot.

Is that a thing people do, just record video and audio of their family rooms at all times? Are the cameras in every room? Is this an american thing or ???

Interior cameras in homes are indeed a thing. The smaller the children the more likely you'll be to find a camera in their room, especially if it is your first kid.

Wasn't the party line always that it wasn't feasible due to being unable to raise the bridge due to slope, and unable to lower the road due to underground works? What changed?
|
# ? Oct 25, 2019 11:57 |

They're only raising it a tiny bit that wont require the rail line to be re-graded. It'll still eat some trucks though.

SA posters were operating on the idea of "raise it enough so no trucks get smushed"

To be fair that's still going to be an improvement- we have a similar bridge here and I think 90% of the people it catches are stuff like someone driving a Uhaul who doesn't know enough to be worried about it (all the rentals in the area now have 'You cannot take this truck on Storrow Drive' signs to try and prevent idiots peeling off their roof).

Baronjutter posted:Is that a thing people do, just record video and audio of their family rooms at all times? Are the cameras in every room? Is this an american thing or ??? It's weird and creepy, especially the internet connected ones. They are becoming ever more popular as your sketchy internet provider gives them to you with their "home security" system and people eat it up. We have 2, one over each kids bed, but they aren't allowed to connect to the internet at my router and my older kid (3 years) is pretty close to getting his removed. The younger kid (3 months) it's still quite useful as the app does alerting on audio levels and squelches below a certain level. Neither of them record, but I could have my synology do it if I wanted.
