I was doing a show and tell for some school groups at a base community event last week, like 5th/6th graders, and some of them were asking some really weird questions. Stuff like "what happens if you're fighting the enemy and they get a spy into your plane?" I just responded with "that's, uhh, not a thing that happens," but it occurred to me that they're probably getting that stuff from video game mechanics. That's just how kids understand the military these days.

Back in the 80's it was probably questions based on GI Joe toys.

At Red Flag, there's actually a branch of the aggressors whose job it is to show you how bad you are at OPSEC. At the end of the exercise they'll take a few minutes of the debrief to show all the poo poo they collected just from people being careless. It's rather disturbing at times, but once in a while they'll say "Yeah you guys were pretty good, we didn't really get anything valuable." And other times, their opening slide is literally a photograph of two of them sitting in the pilot and copilot seat of your airplane. :downs:

I've been in a few. After I set up the VTC I always tidied up the cords with all the velcro straps I seem to accumulate.

Hah, I've heard some of their stories. It seems like a good way to get people to actually follow badge checks and physical security practices. If you've got Opfor on a boat in the middle of the ocean, though, you've either hosed something up spectacularly or they're really, really good swimmers.

It’s fascinating to hear stories from InfoSec penetration tests at corporations. The red teams will wear fake pregnancy bellies to get people to hold doors, steal RFID scans, and throughly scan social media for badge images to replicate.

At my MegaCorp we fail those tests every time. The main entrance has turnstiles requiring badge scans, an attended desk, and cameras. Except every drat building has a side door only requiring a badge swipe with constant tailgating, so occasionally vagrants are spotted wandering the halls.

Call of Duty games have this weird dichotomy between themes of Western nations destabilizing and plundering the world and themes of intense American jingoism. It's as if the writers focus on the former and the editors address the latter. It wouldn't have been out of place at all in the game to correctly attribute the Highway of Death to Coalition forces - in fact, it would only underline the story they were already trying to to tell.

Actually I do not think it was anything like this. No 4d chess. Trump’s decisions over the past few weeks have so radically destabilized the area with many ISIS prisoners escaping, probably whole entire arms of their org chart moving from one region to the other. Baghdadi probably became exposed in the midst of all this, and he was able to be got got. This is just my theory. I just don’t think there was any genius to this. poo poo is shook up like a snow globe and suddenly Bgahdadi’s whereabouts became very obvious.

obviously he wanted the ISIS prisoners to escape this way they could find their leader (its like how birds can always find their way back home). but the kurds wouldnt allow it thats why he allowed the Turks to invade, then the kurds HAD to let them go. genius in action :smugdon:

WHERE MY HOSE DRINKERS AT

quote:

Former adviser to President Clinton Dick Morris said Sunday that Hillary Clinton most likely wants to get into the 2020 presidential race because she thinks “God put her on the Earth” to be president.

Morris told John Catsimatidis on his radio show that the major question revolving around the 2020 election is whether “the ghost of Hillary Clinton” will enter the election.

“My feeling is that she wants to,” Morris said. “She feels entitled to do it. She feels compelled to do it. She feels that God put her on the Earth to do it. But she’s hesitant because she realizes the timing is bad.”
The former adviser said he thinks Clinton is waiting for an opportunity to jump into the race and particularly for former Vice President Joe Biden to drop out.

“She’s got to wait until Biden drops out because he’s obviously next in line for it, and if he goes away, there’s an opening for her,” Morris said.

Clinton would replace Biden as the moderate candidate as voters would look for an alternative to the “leftist” Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Morris said.

“The question is are there enough moderates to beat Elizabeth Warren the leftist?” he asked.

“Make no mistake she wants it,” he added. “She’s planning on it. She’ll do everything she can to achieve it.”

Rumors have circulated about Clinton entering the race, particularly among conservative outlets, as she tours promoting her newly released book that she wrote with her daughter. Some of her allies have discounted the theories, saying it’s “Bannon-created,” referring to Stephen Bannon, the former adviser to President Trump.

Is that the problem people had with No Russian? I thought it was more about depicting the wholesale slaughter of innocents, which in No Russian was fairly video-gamey but in Piccadilly was clearly crafted after a lot of research on videos of terrorist shootings and the gory aftermath. You can tell they paid a lot more attention to making photo-realistic recreations of the dead bodies.
