yeah, my impression was that Bene Gesserit are basically renaissance (wo)men who are highly trained in multiple disciplines including combat (and loving). they just don't reveal that to the normies to keep up appearances. if regular folks knew exactly what the BG really are they would probably flip their poo poo.

The BGs exercise power by being married to everyone important. They constantly manipulate the nobility to serve their own really weird plan for galactic domination. Obviously they need to keep under wraps that they’re doing that or the Landsraad would combine to wipe them out...or just stop marrying them. As far as everyone knows they’re just the proprietors of the elite finishing schools for girls.
