Last DMV visit in the bay area was when I renewed my driver's license by mail and they cashed the check but the license never came and I had to go in to straighten it out. I had printed out the proof the check was cashed but accidentally didn't print out the back of the check, but they said I could go back home, print it, and come back in 30 minutes I wouldn't have to start over in line. So I did, breaking numerous traffic laws while doing so. The post office is especially busy now because everyone is trying to get their real IDs before the travel deadline, starting over in line would probably add another 3 hours to what was already 3 hours. Most everything else I can just do online or by mail, I think it had been 8 years since I had been to a physical one.
