eh it was the usmil sidearm from '85 through like 2014 or so, it's been tested. content: Achmed Jones posted:like I think you just said "it's fine to pull the trigger, the safety's on and it disconnects the firing pin" and just noooooooooooooope oh no. if it's off safe and you keep finger off the trigger and put it on safe, it lowers the hammer with a resounding snap. You never put your finger on the trigger until you have the weapon aimed at something you aim to destroy, and you know what is in front of and behind it.

yah i only tolerate the most controllable and safest firearms. Ever since bump stocks got banned, the latest rage is the 'binary trigger'. One round fires when you squeeze the trigger and another one when you let go. The only way to not fire the second shot when you have the trigger pulled is to put the safety on, then release it. It's absolutely loving gross as hell.

Salt Fish posted:Wow that is gross as hell. Everyone knows binary means 1 or 0 not 1, 2 or 0. exaaaaactly. It's legal too because the ATF, being the most letter-of-the-law federal org on the planet, states that only one round may be fired per trigger pull. There is no wording in the law that says you can't fire a round when you _release_ the trigger.

people actually pressed the ATF on that one, who eventually ruled that no, a piece of string with keyrings on the end did not need a $200 tax stamp and NFA approval. This is the 'rolling contact connector' for when you need solid, high current/voltage multipole connections between a base and a rotating assembly. think about pushing a few kV at an amp or ten to a radar transmitter.

Jonny 290 posted:exaaaaactly. I've always wondered what the ATF would do if someone made an electrically fired weapon with no de-bouncing on the switch. Is it multiple trigger pulls if I pull a trigger and the electrical contact naturally bounces on and off a few times? Are those multiple tiny pulls? (Remington actually made an electrically fired rifle but didn't have to worry about this, it was a bolt action rifle)

Interpret as you will. ADINSX posted:Also since the YOSBIKE crew is actively reading this thread at the moment: should I buy this rad bike It's basically the grandpa of my FZ1. I adore the paint especially contrasted with the frame. The rear end freaks me out. I would do a full brake rebuild and definitely see if the axle needs work. Anything from the front spocket back needs to be called into question. As far as the burn goes, I'd just define a new curve with a Dremel and chop that poo poo out in the most tasteful and clean way you can. Nobody will notice and nobody that truly appreciates the bike will bitch about you keeping it on the road and trimming it up versus doing something horrid like repainting those panels. quote:But I'm worried if there could be potential engine damage handling extra drag like that? speaking as an owner of a 145 hp bike, that is a 145hp bike. it did not even pretend to notice. I mean you're talking about a fresh chain and sprockets on this thing anyways, and those are really the only items that would/could chew up here. _mayyyyyybe_ pay attention to the clutch? but that's not really even a dealbreaker. Wave 28 $100 bills in his face (this is the important part, bring cash) and promise to send him pics once you've gotten it all fixed up. That'll snag it. you'll need that extra 400-500 for parts but you're not loving with engine internals so it's not really difficult work ahead of you
