There was a mod challenge for people to post pictures of themselves dressed up as mermaids smoking giant blunts and holding a sign that was some reference about whoever created the thread. She showed up, and got challenged as well, which is when she posted the picture with the katana. The Ask/Tell thread came after that, and then I pretty much lost track of the situation.

I think one of my favorite...I don't know if I'd call it a saga, but a few morons making a spectacle of themselves was this one Ask/Tell thread several years back. A guy started a thread that was basically "Ask me about eating only meat" and it was pretty much a guy with sub-toddler eating tastes trying to defend himself with one of those comics that have the dinosaurs talking to each other. And then someone else came in to talk about how they "LITERALLY VOMIT" if a vegetable even so much as touches their tongue. See, because they're a supertaster and they just can't tolerate the evil vegetables (hint: that's absolutely not what a supertaster is). It got gas chambered, or goldmined one of the two. It's probably not nearly as funny as I remember, but I wish I could find it again. It was just so absurd, these two people trying to defend their "I will never ever eat a vegetable" diets. ETA: The ~supertaster~ I think also got probated or maybe banned for this just hilariously insane "alternate universes" defense of some dude who started an A/T thread about "Ask me about being a dragon" otherkin stuff. I found "LITERALLY VOMIT" person even funnier than "I don't perceive vegetables as food" guy, because they went on and on and on about being a supertaster, and how anyone who is a supertaster would be the same way, and blahblah. Except...I am a supertaster. And had not too long before that ate a primarily made from scratch vegan diet with plenty of veggies for an entire year. They ignored me bringing that up, of course.

I normally ignore bizarrely incorrect perceptions of me that are based on backforming an excuse for not liking me rather than anything I've said or done, even when hilariously wrong (e.g. twice-over not a WASP), but it's hard to imagine how someone came across the notion I'm pro-eugenics when I'm so stridently anti-eugenics that that's what people bitch me out for. I think people have the right to decide whether or not to have biological children with absolutely no regard to their genetics or potential genetics of their children. I don't think people should experience external pressure even in cases like Hunington's or Tay-Sachs, and should not feel any guilt for choosing to have children likely or certain to inherit these or any other conditions. I actually think it's horrifying we're already seeing people congratulate themselves for opting out based on natural human variation like clubbed thumbs. GATTACA poo poo. My reasons for this aren't important and this isn't the place to argue them, but there are plenty of credible reasons not to like me without deciding you dislike me and then ascribing values you think are odious to me in order to justify it to yourself.
