Yeah, Trump's racist loving rhetoric is just a really good way to channel temporarily embarrassed leftists' anger at the ruling class. They just held their nose and will vote for Sanders instead, really, becausewhat they really hate is wealth inequality. If you think about it all those chants of build the wall and the 'If they don't want to be locked up in cages they shouldn't come here.' is just all misdirected anger at the 1%.

These people are just happy they can finally take off the mask.

E- Shameful snipe and I just want to say I'm not mad at people in the thread. I just wish for a world where the left doesn't have to try and cozy up to racist sexist and anti-lgbtq people to get bernie elected.

Same as a poster above you, this could be a big conspiracy / misdirect to make sure Warren gets in power, but I think it's more likely that she's really putting the fear of God into them. Which is why she gets points in my book.

Yeah but going down that rabbit hole starts bending and twisting and snapping Occam's razor. if I start thinking like that then I eventually start wondering if anything is real at all, and that poo poo will just drive you nuts. It seems like a lot more work with less payoff to write a bunch of revers psychology op-eds than simply stuff dollar bills up Joe Biden's rear end in a top hat

AOC was talking in an interview about how she was split on backing Sanders and Warren and said that for the most part they're identical. Warren even co-signed a public housing bill with Sanders today. Everything that I hear about them is basically that they are two sides of the same coin and will be happy if either of them clinch the nomination

warren is selling herself as a supremely competent technocrat who has all the right plans and will appoint the right people. bernie is trying to build a mass movement of the almost entirely unengaged working class to not only carry him to the white house, but will continue to put pressure on legislators to vote for his agenda

whoever wins the primary is going to be dealing with overwhelming pressure from not only the racist doodoobrained president and his chuds, but a legion of inbred media personalities astroturfed by the people behind almost all of our problems in our country.

they may have similar plans at times, but who do you think is going to have the political will to stick to their guns instead of capitulating to the billionaires like every other democratic president has?

billionaires are not that clever my friend. most of them live in a bubble of rich friends and underlings kissing their rear end and telling them they’re geniuses. they suddenly realized a candidate openly running on a wealth tax was suddenly creeping up behind biden* in the polls, with the actual socialist polling right behind her, and they got shook. convinced the public mostly still reveres them they thought “billionaires speak out against warren” would be bad coverage for her, and michael bloomberg might be a credible failsafe if grampa biden went full gipper.

This is such a dumb take. The demographics are shifting against Republicans literally every day. 8 years of a Warren or -god forbid- a Biden do not garuntee a Republican president. This is the kind of thinking that got us Trump, a Conservative supreme court, and decimated federal programs with orwellian picks for leadership.

gently caress, there are known records of hostile foreign powers trying to disenfranchise and split left leaning Americans and we still hear this garbage.

libs have been trotting out the "but the demographics!!!" poo poo for decades now. what happens is the definitions of whiteness slowly just expand and more people end up voting for racist republicans because they view themselves in that milleu. let's not forget that more hispanic people voted for trump than for romney

I don't have a perfect answer of how to limit or end disenfranchisement but I'ma guess not giving Donald another 4 years of appointing judges will probably help.

I'll vote Bernie in the primary, but if he loses I'ma do what any rational person, including loving Bernie, would do and vote for the Dem. I live in a swing state and I know several people who didn't last time.
