Cojawfee posted:I stopped watching his videos because he went from sort of interesting projects to "WOOOW I'M SO WACKY! Here's something dangerous! This week's video brought to you by some huge brand, they gave me thousands of pounds to make a gun that shoots flame throwers at orphans!" His (on-screen) personality is annoying, but I must admit that definitely I wish I was him when it comes to skills and tool inventory. His (again, on-screen) behavior may be unsafe, but he definitely embodies the mad scientist aesthetic that I, and presumably millions of other people, have wanted to have. Even if they're WACKY things, all of the ones I've seen still require an impressive amount of skill to make. I'm not looking for Youtube fame, but drat I loving wish I could make the type of poo poo he can.

I stopped watching Furze after the beach hut video. For me, that's when he moved from "interesting ideas done with skill and enthusiasm" to "that's loving stupid, someone is going to die" Video in question: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yox9CKYh7EU

Furze did burn the poo poo out of one hand a while back, luckily he seems to not have learnt much and keeps making videos. He's a skilled guy but normalising unsafe behaviour is aggressively irresponsible.

We have a variety of very large grinders that can produce some wicked wounds. The wheels are 24 inch diameter and when they contact flesh they simply erase it. They are covered in steel guards, shrouds, and everything else imaginable to prevent grinding wheel on skin contact. We had one guy adjusting the guarding with the wheels running (big no-no), wrench slipped, and a 1 inch chunk of flesh just evaporated.

Watching Abom79 and his friend with classic metalworking stuff did some pretty OSHA poo poo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bI11wqTUKls&t=838s Group of guys standing close to this man "testing" this old grinder, showering sparks everywhere, is barely protected. His face is getting impacted with sparks Then the band explodes

That looks like it was so much more effort to setup than walking your overweight rear end up and down the stairs a few times, or, now work with me here, just dropping the logs through the open window/handing them to someone through said window.
